Chapter 65
Joshua had always been Abigall’s favorite. Hence I never took the press conference seriously. Among all the men Abigall had been with, Josh had stayed by her side the longest and was
the one she valued the most.
When I saw the news, I just chalked it up to a bit of their usual flirting. Even though I was curious about how Joshua knew Hanson, I was about to ask. Everything, related to Abigail
had nothing to do with me anymore.
Just then, a burst of excitement pulled my attention.
A few glamorous young women were watching Joshua with stars in their eyes, murmuring excitedly.
“Oh my god, look! Isn’t that Joshua?”
“I knew it! Joshua would never miss an event like this!”
“He’s so connected–even knows Hanson, the maestro himself! That’s our guy!”
“It looks like big news is coming soon; he’ll definitely land a big project!”
Their chatter only deepened my frown.
I didn’t want to hear anything about Joshua, and I was about to leave when one of their comments caught my ear. One of the girls exclaimed, “Yeah, he’s about to star in a new drama, and I heard he’ll sing the OST! He must be working with Hanson to put out an album!”
An album?
I couldn’t help but feel surprised. Joshua, a typical pop star with average acting skills and an unremarkable voice, was aiming to release an album? Aside from his fanbase of a few hundred thousand, who else would care?
Realizing I was giving Joshua way too much thought, I felt slightly ridiculous.
What he did, who he was with–it was none of my business. Why was I even paying attention?
I sighed, turned, and started to walk away. Then I heard someone calling my name. “Samuel! Is that you?”
I looked up in surprise and met Hanson’s gaze.
With joy and excitement, he waved and called out, “It really is you–my student!”
I quickly made my way over, bowing respectfully. “Mr. Jigman, it’s been a long time.”
Hanson stepped forward and embraced me warmly. He looked at me with an affectionate, fatherly gaze. “How have you been? You look tired–has something happened?”
Hearing his concern, my eyes stung, and I felt a rush of emotion.
It was funny when no one asked, you could pretend like everything was fine. But the moment someone showed genuine concern, all the bottled–up feelings flooded in. I didn’t want to worry him or give anyone else a reason to gossip.
I took a breath, mustered a small smile, and said softly, “It’s nothing, Mr. Jigman. I’m fine, just dealing with a few issues. It’s nothing serious.”
Seeing I didn’t want to share more, Hanson didn’t press me further.
I politely asked, “Are you planning to open a branch office here?”
He nodded with a smile. “Yes, I’ve been looking into locations. I’m planning to set up a branch.
