Seraphina’s POV
Alpha Johnson. Known as the King of the Underworld. He wasn’t just a man dabbling in weapons and drugs anymore. He was experimenting with something far worse—something that could destabilize the entire werewolf world.
And Holly was his daughter.
The realization sent a chill through my body as her mocking voice snapped me back to reality.
“So, when are you letting me go?” Holly sneered, her arrogance dripping with contempt.
Sid glared at her, his voice tight with anger. “You manipulated me, played me like a puppet. What makes you think I’d ever let you go?”
She scoffed. “Please. My father is Alpha Johnson. You’re nothing more than the Alpha of some poor little pack. Do you really want to provoke him? He could crush your pack with a snap of his fingers.”
Her words sent unease rippling through the room. She wasn’t wrong. Silverclaw Pack was a giant compared to Emerald Howl Pack, with ten times the wolves and territory.
“See? I’m right, aren’t I?” Holly giggled, her laughter high-pitched and mocking. “Let me go and watch your tone. My father doesn’t take kindly to disrespect.”
Her gaze shifted to Sid, her smirk deepening. “And you’d be better off coming back with me. I could make you my lover. Imagine how fun that would be—way better than being a boring Alpha here.”
Eason’s voice erupted, fury bubbling over. “Alpha, are we seriously letting her walk all over us?”
“And what else can you do?” Holly taunted, her laughter growing louder. “This is power, you idiots! You can’t fight Alpha Johnson! Accept the harsh reality!”
Her smug face made my stomach churn, a dark memory flashing before me. Althea’s mocking words when she’d crushed me under the weight of her betrayal. Althea had claimed I was worthless, that Damon had left me because I was nothing compared to her wealth, beauty, and power.
Back then, I’d believed her.
But not this time.
Caden leaned closer, his voice calm but firm. “Whatever you’re thinking, I’ve got your back.” His gaze shifted to Holly, his tone laced with disgust. “She’s not even worth worrying about.”
I turned to Sid, who nodded, offering me a faint, supportive smile. “It’s your call.”
I took a steadying breath and stepped toward Holly. She stiffened slightly, though her smirk didn’t waver.
“What?” she snapped. “Going to avenge your little friends? Please. You couldn’t even stand up to Althea, and now you’re coming after me? I’m my father’s favorite daughter!”
“You’re right,” I said quietly. “It’s time I grew a backbone.”
Before she could respond, I shifted into my wolf and lunged at her. My jaws clamped down on her throat with unrelenting force.
Holly let out a sharp scream, but it was cut short as blood gushed from her neck. My white fur turned crimson as I bit down harder, ensuring she wouldn’t fight back.
Her body jerked once, then went still.
I looked at her lifeless face one last time—her shock and terror frozen in place as if she couldn’t believe I’d actually done it.
I killed her. I’d avenged everyone.
Her body fell limp to the ground. The room was eerily silent except for the sound of my heavy breathing.
FUCK.
Fuck, fuck, fucking hell.
I killed Holly. Alpha Johnson’s daughter. His favorite daughter.
I’d just made an enemy of the most feared man in the world. Not just me—Emerald Howl Pack was now in his sights too.
What now? When Alpha Johnson finds out about this… we’re all dead meat.
A hand rested on my shoulder, and I flinched. I turned to see Sid, his expression calm yet filled with pride.
“Don’t worry,” he said softly.
“I killed her, Sid. Her father—”
“It doesn’t matter,” he interrupted. “Whatever happens, we’ll face it together.” His gaze fell to the bite wound on my neck, and his face darkened with guilt. “I did this to you… I want to fucking kill myself for it.”
Before I could respond, Caden stepped forward and yanked me away from Sid.
His grip was firm as he dragged me toward the door. Then, with a growl of frustration, he scooped me up in his arms and carried me out.
“Put Seraphina down!” Sid shouted, taking a step after us.
“Back off!” Caden roared, his voice sharp and dangerous. “You hurt her. Don’t come near her ever again!”
