Late for love) Chapter 13

In Dallas, Grant returned home three
days later. The apartment was dark. He called my name, but there was no
response.
He turned on the light; the apartment was unchanged. He remembered I was
out of town.
I hadn’t contacted him in days. I’d
promised to tell him when I would come
back, but I didn’t.
He checked his phone, seeing our
past messages. I’d sent numerous
messages to him—daily updates,
complaints, and asking him if we could
go out for a date. His replies were always

Then, he realized my last message
was from over two weeks ago.
Rosie hasn’t talked to me in so long?
He thought.
An unease settled over him. He
texted me, for the first time.
“Everything fine? When are you back?”
There was no reply. It was eleven
o’clock at night. He sighed, assuming that
I was asleep.
Then he saw a note. Each word hit
him like a hammer.
“Grant, we’re over. I’m getting

He reread it, hoping it was a joke. He wished he had an excuse to accuse me of playing with him.
But the scales didn’t fall to his side. It
wasn’t a joke. I meant it.
His eyes welled up. He texted me a picture of the note, ready to ask what was going on, only to see a red mark.
“You are not yet my friend. Please
send a friend request first.”
He was blocked!
He didn’t understand. All he did was
take care of Wanda! Why would I be so
annoyed? And he’d explained why he
would do that, hadn’t he?

He thought I was just upset. After all,
I loved him so much that I couldn’t even
live without him.
He had no idea that things had
changed.
