Chapter 29

Violet’s POV

I couldn’t take my eyes off Ryan’s muscular chest. He was so hot, and all I wanted to do was feel his muscles on my hands. I looked up at his face to see he was looking at me with a smirk on his face. I couldn’t help but blush when I realized he had caught me checking him out.

“I am sure they would love to go with you. Wouldn’t you, Violet?” Traci asked

“Go where?” I asked

“With Ryan to the amusement park. Didn’t you hear anything he said, Honey?” Traci said, sounding worried.

“I am sure she had something else on her mind,” Ryan said with a smile on his face causing my cheeks to turn even redder than they already were.

“What do you say, Violet? I am sure Sof would love to go to the amusement park. Wouldn’t you, “Sof?” Ryan asked.

“Yes, yes, can we go, sissy,” Sof asked. I couldn’t believe Ryan was using Sof to get me to go out with him, He would be hearing an earful from me later. Ryan had a big grin on his face, knowing I couldn’t say no to her.

“Sure we can,” I replied, and Ryan’s grin got bigger than before.

“Yes,” Sof said

“I will let the two of you get ready. How about we go out for pancakes before heading to the amusement park?” Ryan said.

“Yes, Pancakes,” Sof cheered.

“Okay, Ry, let them get ready. You need to shower as well,” Traci said

“What’s going on here?” Emily asked as she walked into my room, looking at Sof jumping up and down.

“Sof, is happy because your brother is taking us to an amusement park,” I said

“That sounds fun. Do you mind if I come with you?” Emily asked. Ryan looked like he was going to tell her no, but I quickly answered.

“I would love for you to come with us. Sof would like for her to come too. Wouldn’t you, Sof,” I asked, and Sof began to nod. I ,could see Ryan’s smile fall from his face for a moment, but he

quickly began to smile again.

“Sure, sis, you can come. I am going to get ready,” Ryan said, leaving my room.

“I don’t think he wants me to come,” Emily said

Come in,” I said after someone knocked on my bedroom door. Ryan walked inside wearing blue jeans and a white t–shirt that didn’t hide his muscular chest.

“Hey, beautiful. you ready to go?” Ryan asked

“Yes,” I said

“Are you ready, Princess?” Ryan asked Sof as he kneeled in front of her, and she nodded.

“Alright, let’s go,” Ryan said, holding his hand out for Sof to take, which she took without hesitation. Ryan held his other hand out for me to take. I looked at it for a moment and then placed my hand in his. The pleasurable tingles instantly went throughout my body, causing me to look at him. He had a smile on his face, and I knew he could feel them, too.

Ryan took Emily, Sof, and me to a restaurant called May’s Pancake House. Sof ordered the chocolate pancakes kid’s meal with whipped cream and a cherry on top. She sat between Ryan and me, and I could see he was already trying to prove that he accepted Sof, which made me happy. He talked to her, cut her pancakes, and put the syrup on her pancakes for her.

When we got back in the car, Ryan made sure Sof was safely secured in a new car seat he had bought for her because it was supposed to be the safest car seat in the world.

“We are finally here,” Ryan said as we pulled up to the amusement park. Sof was so happy and began clapping her hands. Then, Ryan went over to the passenger side where I was sitting and door and opened the door for me. Then, he opened the back door where Sof was sitting, took her out of her car seat, and helped her out of the car. Emily got out on the other side and walked over to me with a smile on her face as she watched her brother with Sof. I’couldn’t help but smile as well.

“Let’s go have some fun,” Ryan said.

“You know, I never thought my brother would be good with kids, but I guess I was wrong,” Emily said. I was watching as Ryan drove the bumper cars with Sof. He had her laughing happily as

they ran into other people’s cars. He had won her a giant Minnie Mouse stuffed animal and a fish, playing those games where you win something if you hit the target. I loved seeing them together, and I was beginning to think he might be the father figure or at least big brother Sof needed, but I knew it was still too early to tell for sure. I needed to see how he was with her for a longer amount of time before I made my decision about him.

“Yes, he has been good with her today. But it has only been one day. Let’s see if it stays like this,” I said.

“What in the hell is she doing here?” Emily suddenly said.

“Who?” I asked, looking at the way Emily was looking. My heart began to beat fast when I saw Jane sitting at a table with another female I had seen at the Packhouse a few times.

“She is not supposed to be around you,” Emily said. Jane turned and looked at me with a smile on her face. Then, she stood from her seat and began walking over to where Emily and I were sitting.

Jane’s smile left her face, and she stopped walking toward me. I wondered what had happened for her to stop walking, and then I heard Ryan’s voice from behind me.
