Chapter 27
Robin had a bewildered look on his face.
“Ms. Hartford, did something happen today?” He took Summer’s bag from her.
Summer narrowed her eyes and beamed. “Nothing happened. It was a wonderful day today.”
“Okay.” Robin cast another glance at those students, who were somehow visibly scared. Then, he opened the car door for Summer.
He entered the car following Summer. Then, he started driving toward the school gate.
Meanwhile, those students who were visibly scared exchanged glances with each other.
After a while, one of them said, “I’ve never noticed before how pretty Summer is and how long her legs are! It even seemed like she was glowing when she smiled just now.”
“I think you’re right,..”
“She’s too feisty, though. This morning, she grabbed Annie’s hair and pressed her face down on the pile of trash. I was so shocked!”
“Those girls bullied her a lot in the past. Well, watching her get revenge on them was quite satisfying.”
The crowd of students that stood there quietly earlier was instantly buzzing with excitement.
Some of them thought Summer was really cool, while some felt that she was using her family background to bully others. Yet, the majority of them were just eager to gossip.
At that very moment, someone shouted aloud, “Oh, my God! There are so many reporters at the front gate. They’re blocking the way!”
Inside the car Summer was in, Robin had a grim look on his face. He had checked the school perimeters just ten minutes ago, and he did not see any reporters just now.
“Ms. Hartford, can you please come out of the car and respond to our questions regarding the recent news involving your cousin?”
“Don’t hide in the car! We came all the way just to meet you. Please come out and talk to us for a bit!”
Outside the car, the reporters pushed and shoved to get near the car windows. Some even leaned against the windshield and shouted to Summer at the top of their lungs.
These reporters had written articles about the different prominent families throughout the years. So, they were quite familiar with the Hartford family and who they were.
It was also most likely these paparazzi who had released articles that mocked and ridiculed the strange, bizarre outfits Summer had worn in public.

Chapter 27
These people knew very well that Summer was the most meek and timid member of the Hartford family. Now that they finally found her, they would not miss the chance to squeeze every juicy detail out of her.
“How did all these reporters get here so quickly? Robin questioned in a low voice.
Summer was holding her phone with both hands. Her delicate fingers moved deftly as she typed something on her phone.
Robin glanced over his shoulder at her since he was worried. However, he paused momentarily.
A lot of people were aware that Summer did not like standing before all these cameras. To be precise, she feared standing in front of them. Unfortunately, there was no way for her to avoid them in this life due to her background and status.
Robin had witnessed on countless occasions Summer trembling with her head hanging low in front of the cameras. However, when he looked at her now…
Not only was Summer not trembling in fear, but she also seemed completely unbothered by the crazed crowd outside. She held her phone and typed swiftly on it expressionlessly.
“Mr. Cohen, you can step out of the car and tell them that I’ll accept the interview.” Summer raised her head and gazed at Robin. Those beautiful eyes seemed to hold an abyss with an unperceivable depth.
From Robin’s standpoint, he should have objected to the idea adamantly. Yet, he responded
“Understood.” instinctively when he met Summer’s gaze,
Robin snapped to his senses after saying that. He immediately changed his stance. “No. These people have come here with impure intentions. You won’t be able to handle them.”
