News of Summer’s change in behavior quickly spread throughout the school. Everywhere she went, gazes would follow her.
She pretended she didn’t notice it.
When she arrived at the entrance of the teacher’s office, she heard the teachers talking about her as
well.
“This is too much! How could she shove a classmate’s head into a pile of trash? That’s inhumane! These rich kids would do the worst of things just because they come from powerful backgrounds!”
Summer scoffed.
She had simply shoved Annie’s head into the pile of trash Annie had created. This was nothing
compared to the bullying Annie had done to her.
But these teachers were feeling bad for the students now?
Summer lifted her hand and knocked on the door.
The voices in the teacher’s office fell silent.
It was slightly disappointing, but because of her connection to Hartford Group, those people would

never dare express their hatred toward her. At the very least, this was the situation right now.
Her simple retaliation this morning served as an announcement to these people that Summer was no longer someone they could afford to mess with.
“Summer, you’re here.” When Ivan saw Summer coming in, he pushed his glasses and said, “Come sit here. I’d like to have a chat with you.”
Summer remained standing. “Mr. Sutton, you still think I should call my parents, don’t you?”
Ivan didn’t say anything.
Just then, another female teacher spoke up in a reprimanding voice, “Summer, you used to be a good child. What came over you? All the students are talking about this incident. It’s a bad influence.”
“That’s right. Rich kids like you already get lots of attention. If word of this gets out, what would people say about you and your parents?” the teacher Summer had overheard just now chimed in as well.
“You’re absolutely right,” Summer replied calmly. ” But I have a question.”
“What is it?” the teacher asked.

was a good child back then, right?” Summer asked.
The teachers went pale in the face. “That’s not bullying at all. It’s just some playful banter between students. Quit making such a huge fuss about it!”
Another teacher said, “Exactly. Were you even hurt back then? Not even once, right?”
Summer lowered her gaze, smiling in exasperation. “If I went home injured, every one of you here would be driven out of the school already. You wouldn’t be sitting here and criticizing me right now.”
The teachers fell silent.
Annie and her friends weren’t fools. They were actually quite smart.
When they bullied Summer, they would go all out to give her a hard time, but they made it a point not to physically hurt Summer. The others knew they couldn’t afford to mess with the Hartfords, so they silently made sure that the secret was kept tightly under wraps.
Rose also had a hand in this affair, so even after so long, Henry and the others never found out that Summer was bullied in school.
