Chapter 23
“Sorry, sir. I really wasn’t being respectful, was I?” Summer tapped the desk lightly with her slender fingers. “It’s a very serious offense. Perhaps you should… call my parents.”
As soon as Summer said that, Ivan froze.
Even students in the elite schools weren’t so
arrogant that they would actually tell their teachers to call their parents.
“There’s not much going on at home these days, and my elders should be free to come over. Shall I make the call for you?” Summer asked.
Ivan’s face instantly turned pale.
Getting the elders of the Hartford family here would be the death of him. As far as he knew, Summer never told her family about getting bullied at school. If her family came over right now, the cat would be let out of the bag.
“It’s not that serious,” Ivan said, trying to gloss it
over.
“Oh.” Summer raised an eyebrow. “Then, we’ll leave it for when you feel it’s serious enough, Mr. Sutton.”
Ivan’s face turned ashen.

In the final three minutes, the rich young ladies did everything they could, but they still couldn’t completely get rid of the words written on the desk.
“Summer, I promise I’ll clean everything up over lunch break. Please don’t tell my parents about this. “One of them broke down. Ignoring the fact that people were watching, she began wailing in front of
Summer.
“Why are you crying? Did I bully you or something?
Summer looked at the young lady as she asked expressionlessly.
The young lady immediately covered her mouth
and shook her head.
Just then, the bell rang.
Summer said indifferently, “Go back to your seats.”
Annie and the others exchanged glances. They didn’t know what exactly Summer meant by that. However, they didn’t dare ask.
“Mr. Sutton, I’d like to go change—” Annie was covered in trash from head to toe, so she raised her hand to ask for permission to change her clothes.
“To your seats.” Summer’s voice suddenly turned cold. She didn’t even look at Annie as she spoke in
annoyance.

Annie shuddered. In the end, she could only clench her fists as she returned to her seat.
The students around her subconsciously shifted their desks away from her.
Ivan stood on the podium, looking at Summer in shock and confusion. He wondered what was wrong with Summer and why she was behaving like that.
The atmosphere in the classroom was quite awkward throughout the lesson. Ivan wasn’t focusing on the lesson, and neither were the students. Summer was the only person who was interested in the lesson.
Finally, the dreadful session was over.
“Ms. Summer Hartford, come to the teacher’s office with me.” Ivan had a dark look on his face. After leaving those instructions, he grabbed his things
and walked out.
The classroom remained completely silent.
After that, someone let out a shout and exclaimed, Summer, you’re amazing! Even Mr. Sutton couldn’t retort to you!”
Summer didn’t say anything. She slowly gathered her things before standing up to leave the
classroom.

Just then, a classmate asked her in a gossipy tone, Hey, Summer, how’s Rose?”
Summer turned to look at her. “What does that
have to do with you?”
The classmate froze for a moment.
Then, Summer walked away.
“Damn it! What’s she putting on airs for?” The classmate was exasperated.
After that, everyone in the classroom
simultaneously turned to look at Annie.
Annie waited until Summer was gone before shouting, “What are you looking at?”
The others didn’t dare offend Annie. They were all
glad that she was taught a lesson, but they refrained from expressing their glee. They turned their gazes away.
Annie felt extremely embarrassed. With tears streaming down her face, she ran out to change her clothes.
