Having upset Claire to the point of leaving wasn’t my goal. I had told her about the contract bidding because I had received a notice that my business was being investigated by the Better Business Bureau for claims of misconduct with contractual agreements. They would be coming back for every dollár I pulled unjustly from those contracts and paying them would be the only
way to save my company.
I had tried putting up my own blueprints but no one was interested in working with me and I got desperate. I submitted Claire’s under my company name and I saw bidders lining up for the opportunity to obtain them. It was astonishing. And I wanted to do this with Claire. With that amount of money, my business would flourish and we could finally be together – I could take care of her.
I didn’t expect her ex–husband to ruin my plans or for Claire to run off with the her documents. I tried calling her to no avail. She wouldn’t take my call and I was becoming And just when I thought my anger had reached the point of anguish – I see Leo stroll into my office.

me wants to laugh. I think he was more upset with the fact that she trusted me and he had missed out on her true potential.
I may have bit off then I could chew though. It only took a comment to send him into a pit of rage. An animal ready to squeeze the life out of me. What did Claire ever see in him? I mean the guy quite literally choked me.
I almost gave up until I saw Claire called shortly after his leaving.
I still had a chance to win her over. So I raced to the cafe and made sure to sit where we sat last
time – hoping to bring back the happy memories of when I encouraged her to follow her dreams and I helped her in realizing her potential as an architecture. Hoping gratitude would help her see how rash she was being. I waited until she arrived and pleaded my case. But something was different with Claire. She seemed reserved and withdrawn from my advances. Just as I lose my composure and grab her, I see her ex–husband and knew I’d taken it too far.
I watch Claire scurry out the door and ready myself for another conversation.

“You sure like to ruin the moment with your presence.” I say as I lean back in my chair. Being in public gave me an advantage. He couldn’t just act wildly in front of everyone.
“I see you’re not good at heeding any warnings.” He says while tucking his hands into his pockets.
“You want to know what I find funny? I find it funny that you keep showing up to save her and yet, she didn’t choose you. I find it funny that you keep trying to protect her when you’re the

one who hurt her and I find it funny that she was ready to choose me until you came along once again.” I had hit a nerve. I watched as he clenched his jaw and he tensed at my words.
“Claire will never choose you. You aren’t even remotely close to winning her back and you certainly won’t be getting back those documents. I’ve made sure of it.” He then takes a few steps closer.
“I already have my team recreating the blueprints from 3D models. It’s just a matter of time.”
Just then I see Leonardo pulling out his phone. He slides it across the table and I watch as a live streaming video shows men at my warehouse retrieving all of her 3D models while my employees just stand back and watch. I look up at him as he begins to smile.
“You’re stealing my models?! Have you lost your mind?” I get out of my chair.
“I can’t steal what isn’t yours but I can, however, retrieve what belongs to my wife.” He says as he steps forward to intimidate me with his size.
Y at me,
“Oh and another gift – here’s a cease and desist. Any and all moves you make professionally will be investigated to ensure genuine ownership rather than plagiarism.” He hands me the paper and I shove him in response. He barely moves and in return, takes a sy knocking me off my feet, I feel the blood rushing from my nose as I scramble to get up and ready for a fight but just as I reach my feet, I see him leaving.
He had good on his warning
And it didn’t take a genius to realize – I was screwed.

I had been in my bed when I heard Leo running down the stairs and had thought he was coming to check on my “recovery“. That was until I heard him yell out to Elena that Claire was in trouble. Even with that wretched peasant gone, he still worried about her.
I quietly ran upstairs to Leo’s office alone the coast was clear and begin searching for clues to help me rid of Claire. To my dismay, mostly all of his documents had already been locked away. Elena was diligent in cleaning up Leo’s affairs. All except for one – his decree of divorce. It was placed perfectly in the middle of his desk as if it was left for me to see.
I frantically open it and begin reading the addendums. Leo had left her a studio to conduct business. A honorable thing to do for a useless ex- housewife. I read the address and decide to save the information in my phone for later. Knowing where Claire would be – put me at a much higher advantage in my plans.
I continue reading through the pages until I find something that shocks my core. I sink into Leo’s office chair as I read a clause in their decree.
Should the signing party (Claire) choose to return to the issuing party (Leonardo), this decree shall hold no imposition and be immediately null and void. Such so, both parties will continue in matrimony unless otherwise stated.‘
I feel the flame in my cheeks as I radiate anger. If Claire were to return, she would continue being his wife. Why can’t I get rid of her?!
I put the papers back carefully where I found them and head carefully to my room. Making sure that the hired help are none the wiser.
Once back in bed, I ponder what to think of this ordeal? Leo had added a clause – allowing Claire to return and continue being his wife. I have stood by his side for years. I can’t understand that no matter what I do – she keeps coming back in the picture even without so much as being in the house.
I hadn’t heard his phone ring and yet he ran out to door without so much as a second thought
to her rescue nonetheless. The very picture imprinted in my mind makes me sick to my stomach and anger consumes me.
Soon, I will be “walking again” and I am determined to make sure that Claire will pay for her interference in Leo and I’s relationship. Her constant involvement has been nothing short of a hindrance to me and I will make it known to her. She will answer for her discrepancies and reap the consequences I plan on sowing for her.
Once I am done with her, I will make certain that Leo never wishes to speak or even hiss her name again. She will never get Leo.
He will always belong to me.
