Chapter 2
The cops arrived and subdued the patient involved in the medical dispute.
They saw me, soaked in blood and unconscious at the door of the consultation room, so they immediately called for a doctor. “There’s a pregnant woman injured here. Why did all the doctors ignore her?”
I was freezing all over, my limbs trembling, and I couldn’t speak.
No one dared to take me into the ward for treatment.
The cops reached Antonio, the hospital director.
Antonio walked out of the consultation room and explained to the cops, “Po–po, don’t worry about her. She’s just putting on a show to make me pity her.”
One of the cops frowned and shook his head, saying in a determined tone, “I’m a pro, sir. This lady has lost a lot of blood. It’s real.”
He then called for his colleagues
The corridor was surrounded by nurses and patients.
Antonio didn’t like being scrutinized by others, especially not by so many people.
So he kicked my belly again. “Bitch! The cops are here. Get up and scram now!”

Chapter 2
The blood loss left me too weak to respond.
I just instinctively protected my belly, having no idea that my baby was already gone.
Finally, I collapsed to the side and fell to the ground.
Someone helped me up, covering their mouth in disbelief. “Oh my God! Isn’t this Dr. Parrish? Why didn’t you help her?!
“Dr. Kaufman, she’s your wife!”
Antonio revealed a terrifying smile as he grabbed my hair. “Did you bring in actors to my hospital? Don’t forget that you’re spending my money!”
I closed my eyes in despair.
He still thought that I was lying.
“Antonio, do you know that our baby has already gone?” I cried deep down in silence.
If I could make it this time, I would never see him.
The cops kept persuading Antonio to help rescue me, but he wouldn’t agree, believing the cops were just extras I had hired.
He even yelled at them, saying that he wouldn’t pay.
Irritated, one of the cops took out his phone and called another hospital.
Kimberly stepped out and whispered, “Grace, you’ve wasted medical resources and the police force. Get up now, and I won’t hold you accountable.”

Antonio looked at her with concern. “Kimberly, you’re just too kind. Let her make her scene before we put her in jail.”
Then I heard Antonio give an order to the security guard, “Charlie, drag this troublemaker out and lock her in the morgue. No one is allowed to open the door without my permission!”
The cops immediately intervened. “No, sir, you can’t! This is illegal imprisonment!”
Antonio raised an eyebrow. “This isn’t imprisonment when she’s my wife! I’m just handling family matters!”
Two security guards dragged me by the arms. The tearing pain from my wounds made me scream in agony.
Just then, my friend Lucia Hall arrived with her colleagues in an ambulance.
She was also a doctor, working at another hospital.
Spotting the knife in my belly, she immediately burst into tears. “Antonio, are you out of your fucking mind? She’s your wife!”
After quickly checking my condition, Lucia called for others to lift me onto the emergency stretcher.
I had just sighed in relief when Antonio blocked the way. “You’re not taking her. She hurt Kimberly. She’s not going anywhere until she apologizes!”
Lucia glanced at Kimberly.
Realizing Kimberly wasn’t injured at all, she flew into a rage. “That bitch isn’t even hurt!”

214 Vouchers-
The two of them started arguing.
I lay on the emergency stretcher, my body completely numb.
Knowing that I was gonna die, I quietly closed my eyes, waiting for the moment when death took me.
A few seconds later, I suddenly felt someone’s breath on my face.
It was Antonio.
“You don’t believe me? Fine! Then I’ll show you whether the knife was in her belly or in a blood bag!”
He looked at me with a contemptuous gaze. “Grace, I’ll expose your lies!”
He then grabbed the handle of the knife in my belly, about to pull it out.
