“Okay,” Charmaine replied hesitantly.
Although she was clearly irritated, she couldn’t deny the guilt she felt and reluctantly gave in.

She watched Freya stubbornly take up half the chair, not willing to move an inch, and with a quick, almost casual movement, Charmaine gently nudged her aside.

“Charmaine, don’t get too cocky now!” Freya snapped.
With that, Freya stormed off in a huff.
Charmaine barely paid her any attention.

The meal passed without Charmaine pausing for even a second. One after another, she served Emyr, carefully placing the dishes right in front of him.
Across from them, Freya sat in the only available seat, glaring at the scene with barely contained rage.
She could hardly stomach the sight. Watching Charmaine act so subserviently toward Emyr made her stomach churn. Every bite she took seemed to carry Charmaine’s mocking face. That b*tch is clearly doing this on purpose.
At the same table, Veronica’s jealousy was nearly palpable.
Her hands clenched into fists under the table as she glared at Charmaine, her eyes narrowed with disdain.
Charmaine, fully aware of the prying eyes on her, remained unfazed.
Her focus was entirely on keeping Emyr’s temper under control. She couldn’t afford to offend him now. Staying in his good graces was her priority.
Kane observed the “harmonious” interaction between Emyr and Charmaine, a smirk playing on his lips as he squinted with amusement.

Keon smiled but casually glanced at the cold, stoic man being served by Charmaine before turning his attention back to the conversation.
“Emyr, did you find the person you wanted me to look for?”
The question came out of nowhere, causing Veronica to freeze. She fumbled with her spoon and accidentally dropped it into her bowl with a loud splash. Hot soup splattered, burning her hand.
She quickly forced a calm expression, looking around to make sure no one had noticed her mistake.
Her heart raced in her chest, pounding in her ears.
Emyr turned toward Keon, meeting his steady gaze for a moment. “Yes, I found them.”
Keon raised an eyebrow and glanced at Charmaine, who was still absorbed in her task of removing fishbones for Emyr. He quickly turned back to the conversation.
“That’s great,” he said, his smile tight.
Veronica sighed softly in relief.
Thankfully, Emyr didn’t elaborate.
“Wait, hold on! What’s going on? Why didn’t anyone tell me about this?” Shawn, looking confused, turned to Sinnova. “Sinnova, what’s happening?”
Sinnova shrugged, equally perplexed.
He tapped his chin thoughtfully, an idea apparently forming, and then grinned. “Looks like the Emyr found … is a woman.”

Freya’s face turned an unhealthy shade of green as if the news had physically struck her. “Who is it?!”
Emyr’s gaze swept over the room, cold and calculating. His eyes locked onto Kane. “Do you have a death wish?”
Kane felt his usual righteous anger flare up as he considered defending his future sister–in–law, but in an instant, his resolve crumbled, and he shrank back, his words dying in his throat.
