Chapter 77 She’s Mine
Instead of questioning the girls, Alessa turned to the bodyguards whom Veronica had called over.
The bodyguard explained the whole situation.

Celeste, unwilling to let the matter rest, added in a shrill voice, “She stole Leah’s engagement ring from Daniel! She came here to provoke us on purpose and even tried to seduce someone else’s boyfriend. What a shameless woman!”
After hearing this, the crowd began to look at Charmaine with disdain. They didn’t hesitate to condemn her based solely on Celeste and her friends‘ accusations, as though the matter had already been decided.
“Who invited this country bumpkin? How could she show up at a party in a T–shirt and jeans? And, she had even stolen something! She has no respect for the Quinn family!”
“Isn’t she that college student Mrs. Alessa helped out of kindness? Such a shame she’s so ungrateful. How could she bite the hand that fed her by stealing at Mrs. Alessa’s birthday banquet? She’s shameless!”
“Wait a minute,” someone chimed in. “Isn’t this your daughter, Mr. Read?”
Bennett quickly distanced himself. “No, no! There was a mix–up at the hospital years ago. She’s not my biological daughter. She has nothing to do with us anymore.”
“Seriously? A mix–up that big? No wonder there were rumors about the Reads‘ rebellious daughter always causing trouble. Turns out she wasn’t even yours. Figures. Must’ve come from some low–class family with no morals.”
This remark made Willard and Olympia’s expressions darken further.
Just then, a commotion rippled through the crowd near the entrance. People instinctively parted, creating a path. The noisy chatter ceased as if someone had pressed mute.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, a sleek, silver wheelchair moved forward, coming to a stop at the center of the uproar.
The man seated in it was breathtakingly handsome, and the moment he appeared, he became the undeniable focus of everyone’s attention.
Even Celeste and Veronica, who had been writhing on the floor moments ago, were utterly captivated.
The man let out a soft scoff and broke the silence. “Quite a lively party tonight, isn’t it?”
While everyone was still dazed by Emyr’s sudden appearance, he raised a hand slightly and beckoned toward Charmaine. “What are you standing there for? Come here.”
Charmaine had remained still amidst the storm of accusations, unbothered by the harsh words.
But now, at his command, she calmly picked up a wet wipe from a nearby table, cleaned her hands, and walked over to him.
The way she moved–like an obedient rabbit returning to the side of a ferocious beast–was strangely natural and utterly mesmerizing.
Someone in the crowd finally gathered the courage to ask, “Mr. Emyr, who is she?”

Chapter 77 She’s Mine
Emyr’s gaze swept coldly toward the speaker, his expression exuding an effortless arrogance.
“She’s mine. Why?”

The room collectively gasped. The man who had spoken quickly lowered his head, silenced by Emyr’s frigid
stare.
Leah, Celeste, and Veronica were utterly stunned.
When had Charmaine gotten involved with him? Could it be that the mysterious owner of that Maybach wasn’t some disgusting, overweight old man but… Emyr?
Celeste couldn’t accept it. This man, radiating power and elegance, had just claimed Charmaine as his. The thought alone made her stomach churn with jealousy.
“She stole from us and injured us! It doesn’t matter who is backing her. She has to face the consequences!”
Emyr cast her a fleeting glance. That one look was enough to send a shiver down her spine.
Veronica wasn’t much better off. She trembled as well but couldn’t tear her eyes away from Emyr’s face.
The man was simply too perfect.
She and Celeste had seen their share of handsome men, even inviting famous male celebrities to Celeste’s birthday parties.
However, none of them came close to the man before them. He was in a league of his own.
“Was it you?” Emyr asked, his tone casual yet commanding as he turned to Charmaine.
“Yes, it was me,” Charmaine replied.
“Why did you do it?”
Surrounded by judgmental stares, only Emyr had bothered to ask why.
Charmaine’s lips curved into a faint smile. “They accused me of stealing and tried to have me thrown out. I was defending myself.”
Celeste exploded. “You’re lying! You stole Leah’s ring and attacked us!”
Hearing this, Emyr let out a derisive chuckle. “If she wanted something, do you think I couldn’t provide it for her?‘ Why would she even look at someone else’s trash?”
His words were like a slap to their faces–blunt, humiliating, and utterly irrefutable.
No one dared to utter another word.
