Leah’s face darkened as if someone had struck a nerve.

Celeste’s expression soured as well. Just as she raised her hand, Charmaine shot her a glare while lightly. swirling the red wine in her glass. “Are you asking to get splashed again?”
“You… you b*tch!”
Leah quickly stepped in to defuse the situation. Forcing a smile, she said, “Celeste, Veronica, let’s not argue. We’re all classmates, after all…”
Then, she turned to Charmaine, her voice soft and pleading. “Chara, even if you don’t care about me, could you at least consider Mrs. Alessa’s feelings?”
“Sure.”
Hearing this, Leah sighed in relief.
Charmaine almost laughed out loud at her act.
Had Leah thought of herself as Mrs. Alessa’s future granddaughter–in–law?
Perhaps she had achieved that dream in her previous life, but now …
Charmaine’s eyes turned icy as she lifted an eyebrow.
Leah turned back to pull Celeste and Veronica away, but before she could, Veronica suddenly grabbed Leah’s left hand. “Leah, your ring! It’s missing!”
“My ring?”
Leah realized what was happening and her face turned pale. “The ring Daniel gave me—it’s gone!”
Celeste immediately stormed toward Charmaine and shoved her hand into Charmaine’s pocket. To everyone’s surprise, she pulled out a dazzling canary diamond ring and shouted, “You thief? How dare you steal Leah’s engagement ring?”
Leah hurriedly reclaimed the ring, clutching it like a treasure. She looked at Charmaine disappointedly and said, “Chara, how could you do such a thing?”
Veronica signaled for the security guards. “She’s a thief! Get her out of here!”
The guards, seeing what appeared to be clear evidence, moved toward Charmaine to escort her out.
Watching their clumsy performance, Charmaine’s lips curled into a cold, mocking smile. Their pitiful attempt to frame her was so transparent it was almost laughable.
Fine.
If they wanted to gang up on me, they could all go to hell together.
Charmaine’s head lowered briefly but when she looked up again, her gaze was sharp and deadly.
Without warning, she hurled the wine glass to the floor. The glass shattered against the pristine marble floor

The stemmed glass broke into sharp fragments, mixing with the crimson liquid, sending shards flying everywhere.
Charmaine was dressed in jeans, while Leah and her two friends were decked out in elegant luxury–brand gowns, showing off their long, pale legs.
They had expected to drive Charmaine away smoothly, but to their shock, Charmaine suddenly went berserk and smashed a wine glass right on the spot.
With no clothing to shield them, their exposed legs weren’t spared. Crimson streaks dotted their skin, a mix of small cuts from shattered glass and stains from spilled red wine.
Celeste, who had been standing closest, fell to the floor with a scream, clutching her leg. “My legs! My legs! It hurts so much!”
Veronica fared no better. She frantically brushed the glass shards off her legs but accidentally cut her hand in the process. Tears streamed down her face as she cried, “Call a doctor! Hurry!”
Standing slightly behind them, Leah suffered the least but still winced in pain.
Her eyes widened in disbelief as she glared at Charmaine. “Are you insane?”
Charmaine had refused to leave quietly and had instead caused a scene, even daring to injure people here of all places.
Without the Nelsons to back you up, Charmaine, you’re going to regret this. Just wait and see!
“What’s going on here?”
Daniel quickly pushed through the crowd.
Seeing the mess, he immediately ordered the hotel’s on–call doctor to come and had the security guards disperse the crowd.
“It’s nothing. Just an accident … ” Leah tried to downplay the situation, but Celeste interrupted furiously. “That b*tch did it on purpose! I’m calling the police! My legs are ruined–ruined! I’ll cripple her for this!”
Charmaine calmly eyed Celeste’s barely scratched legs and said with indifference, “If you want to curse your own legs, be my guest. It has nothing to do with me.”
“Charmaine, why are you always causing trouble? Leah, are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Leah replied softly as Willard, Olympia, Bennett, and Sophie arrived. “But Celeste and Veronica are hurt much worse…”
Sophie couldn’t help but sneer. “Charmaine really is a walking disaster, isn’t she? Anyone who gets involved with her is bound to regret it.”
Willard and Olympia’s expressions stiffened slightly at Sophie’s words.
Charmaine noticed but said nothing.
The Quinns also arrived, with Alessa leading the way.
Seeing Charmaine, Alessa’s initial surprise quickly gave way to calm composure as she addressed the crowd.
