Sophie covered her mouth and chuckled, “Hehe, you’re right. No matter how lucky that little w*nch is, she’s nothing but a tool for our family. Hahaha!”
After reveling in their smug satisfaction, neither of them wanted to linger in the dreary room any longer. They left, strolling out without a care.
Once the door shut, the silence of the room was broken by a faint sound.
Charmaine emerged from the wardrobe, her entire being radiating a menacing aura.
So that’s how it is….
That’s what really happened!
It wasn’t some careless mix–up by a nurse–it had been Bennett and Sophie’s deliberate scheme to switch babies!
Leah was born under a cursed fate, so they used Charmaine’s good fortune to rewrite Leah’s fate!
They swapped the babies, and let Leah bask in the love and wealth showered by the Nelsons, thriving on the success her luck had brought.
Meanwhile, they discarded Charmaine like garbage, showing her no love, belittling her at every turn, and letting malicious gossip tear her apart. In the end, they tricked her into going to South Aspus, a place known to devour lives, ensuring she’d never return. All this, just so Leah could comfortably seize her identity and live as the cherished daughter of the Nelsons.
No wonder, in her past life, she lost a kidney, and her fortune drained away so rapidly that she barely survived. In the end, she could only watch helplessly as Leah survived unscathed while she perished in a sea of flames.
Leah soared to new heights, celebrated as the beloved heiress of the Nelsons, adored by her family, and envied by all.
Leah, Bennett, and Sophie climbed to the top by trampling over Charmaine.
From dirt–poor nobodies in the countryside, they transformed into wealthy elites basking in luxury!
Willard, Olympia, and the Nelson brothers were blind fools, cherishing the very person who had destroyed Charmaine. They were accomplices in the torment and suffering Charmaine endured in her past life!
Unknowingly, Charmaine’s eyes burned crimson with fury. Her fists were clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, but she felt no pain.
She despised them all.
Now, armed with the truth, her hatred grew deeper.
Sophie was right–fate itself was biased in her favor.
It gave her a second chance, revealed the truth, and granted her the opportunity to crush their dreams and reduce them to ashes.

Chapter 73 A Second Chance
Fine, let them try!
I will make them return everything they have taken from me.
For all the harm they’ve done, I will repay them with vengeance a hundredfold.
“Charmaine! What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

Lucia’s voice broke through. She had just returned and was startled by the icy, murderous air surrounding Charmaine. Taking a step closer, she couldn’t help but shiver in fear.
Charmaine took several deep breaths to calm the storm within her.
Turning to Lucia, she smiled faintly. “I’m fine. Thank you for taking such good care of Grandma, Lucia.”
She paused before adding, “From now on, I’ll hire two more bodyguards to watch over her. If anything happens, you can go to them directly or contact me.”
“Bodyguards? But this place has its own security. Isn’t that unnecessary?”
“It’s fine. The Reads will cover the expenses,” Charmaine said firmly. “And one more thing–I’d appreciate it if you kept my visit here today a secret.”
“Sure, whatever you say, Charmaine.” Though confused by her request, Lucia didn’t question her. “Take care of yourself. Mrs. Jane doesn’t have much time left, but she always thinks of you and hopes you’re doing well.”
Charmaine glanced back at her sleeping grandmother and mumbled, “Don’t worry, Grandma. I will.”
Charmaine returned to Eastlake after leaving the sanatorium.
As soon as she got home, she locked herself in her room and deleted all surveillance footage of her visit.
She unlocked her phone and stared at the photos Bennett had sent her. Without hesitation, she blocked him again, then pulled up an old contact. She typed a message, attached the photos, and hit send.
During dinner time.
Emyr had just arrived at the dining room when a tantalizing aroma greeted him.
“Mr. Emyr, you’re here! Dinner’s ready,” Charmaine said warmly, walking over to push his wheelchair to the head of the table.
He glanced at the lavish spread before him, then shifted his gaze to her as he cut straight to the point.
