“Haha, same with Ms. Palmer! She’s used to handling emergencies all day. They barely speak to anyone outside of work. Even when buying food, they don’t know what to say!”
“Dr. Robin avoids people, and Zayn gives off a cold vibe. This team might not be eating tonight.”
“Hey, don’t forget about Leah.”
“Oh, her? She’s just someone who pretended to be rich and lived off someone else’s name and family. What could she possibly bring to the table?”
It was obvious that this team wasn’t popular with the viewers and wasn’t doing well.
The other two groups, full of outgoing guests, had already wrapped up their tasks in under 30 minutes. They visited the locals, had a nice chat over tea, and even left after being treated to a meal.
But the six members of this team hadn’t made any progress at all.
Finally, the head nurse, Alice Palmer, broke the silence and asked, “Dr. Becker, Dr. Snee, are we even going to eat tonight?”
Randall Snee, a chubby man who loved food, frowned. Of course. If we skip dinner, how are we supposed to work tomorrow?”
Zeph Becker agreed. “We don’t even know if breakfast will be a thing. We should fill up while we can.”
Leah looked around and offered, “I’ll give it a shot. I’ll perform for the villagers. Maybe someone will let us join them for dinner.”
Randall gave her a thumbs–up. “Sounds like a plan!”
They picked a house and knocked. A thin, pale, older woman opened the door.
Leah smiled. “Hello, ma’am. We’re here as part of a free medical team. Would you mind if we came in?”
The old woman’s eyes brightened. “Oh, you’re here to treat us? Wonderful! Come in, come in!”
She turned and walked inside.
The group, hopeful now, followed her eagerly.
In the yard, they saw several elderly people sitting together.
Then, a middle–aged woman stepped out from a smoky kitchen, holding a spatula. She looked th with suspicion. “Who are you?”

Leah repeated what they were there for. The woman narrowed her eyes. “Didn’t you say the treatments start tomorrow? Why are you here now?”
The old woman who brought them in said with a smile. “Halle, they’re here to treat us. Whether it’s today or tomorrow, it doesn’t matter.”

Leah was taken aback and quickly explained, “No, we’re not treating anyone today. We’re just visiting and trying to get to know everyone before tomorrow.”
As soon as she said that, the elderly people’s happy expressions vanished. They began to complain.
“If you come to help, then just help. Why waste time talking?”
“Yeah! Why wait till tomorrow? Just do it now.”
“If we get treated today, you can relax tomorrow. Are you helping us or not? Why make it so difficult?”
“Are you offering this for free, or are you trying to charge us in advance?”
As soon as that was said, the elderly people sitting around turned hostile, their faces hardening as they stared at them.
“You’re still asking for cash? I can live with this small illness. I’m not giving you anything! Leave now!”
“Get lost!”
Zeph had spent years as a doctor, but it was the first time he’d been treated like that. He tried to explain “We’re not charging. The medical service is free, but we don’t have the proper tools with us—”
“You don’t need any tools just to check a pulse! Quit making excuses. You’re just backing out now!”
All of a sudden, the elderly group turned aggressive. Leah, who was standing in front, panicked when that middle–aged woman lifted her ladle. She quickly rushed to hide behind the others.
The chat exploded with reactions.
“These old folks are seriously intense!”
“Yeah, they’re completely unreasonable.”
“I used to feel bad for them, but now I see why things turned out this way.”
“Leah messed things up. She offered to help but ended up running away. No guts at all.”
“It’s easy to say that from behind a screen. That situation would scare anyone.”
“Exactly. Leah’s still just a teen. Why are you guys attacking her?”
“I’ve had doubts since the stream started. Where did all these fake supporters come from? Why are you backing her up?”
