Maxwell’s rough hand gently rested on Leah’s shoulder. “I’ll keep this between us. Don’t worry about it.”
Leah’s heart swelled with appreciation. “Thanks, Maxwell.”
Liam, not wanting to be left out, pounded his chest proudly. “I’ll keep it quiet too. I’m practically close to Maxwell as anyone could be, so consider me like your older brother. I’ve got your back!”
Leah flashed him a grateful smile. “Thanks, Liam.”
“Still,” Liam added, his voice teasing, “the real problem here is Charmaine, right? She’s somewhere around here, isn’t she? Someone ought to teach her a lesson. If not, she might start thinking no one will stand up to her.”
Maxwell’s voice dropped into a low, warning tone. “Don’t do anything rash.”
Liam scoffed, “What’s the worst that could happen? You’re not going to take her side, are you?”
Leah gasped, clearly worried. “No, Liam, please. I don’t want you to get into trouble…”
Liam grinned mischievously. “She’d have to be pretty good to ‘get me into trouble, don’t you think?”
As Maxwell went to pay, Liam leaned in and whispered to Leah, his eyes twinkling. “Don’t worry, Leah. Think of this as my little gift to you!”
Leah felt a rush of warmth, her cheeks slightly reddening. She didn’t know what to say, but her eyes toward Liam mixed admiration with a bit of shyness. Sensing her gratitude, Liam puffed out his chest proudly.
Eventually, Emyr ended up taking Charmaine back to their room.
Unable to handle so many toys in her arms, she struggled to carry all the stuffed animals she had won to her
room.
Their suite had two beds, but with the bed covered in plush toys, Charmaine found it nearly impossible to lie down. She rubbed her temples, feeling frustrated.
Satan, ever the tease, couldn’t resist a jab. “Got a whole variety here, huh? Looks like you’ve got plenty of ‘friends‘ to cuddle with tonight.”
Charmaine’s face turned bright red, and she quickly shoved him out of the room, exasperated. “Go to your meeting already!”
Emyr chuckled, enjoying the playful moment.
But as he reached the top floor and prepared to change into his suit, he found Kane and the others sprawled on the large, uniquely shaped art couch in the living room, all focused on their phones.
As soon as he entered, their eyes locked on him, filled with teasing amusement.
Kane crossed his arms and mockingly raised his voice. “Well, well, the clueless guy who’s always saying my tricks don’t work. Who would’ve thought? Now here he is, using the same methods on his girlfriend!”

The room burst into laughter.
Emyr’s face stayed neutral, though a flicker of confusion passed through his eyes.
Seeing his reaction, Kane took pity on him and handed him his phone, showing a series of photos from all over the mall. The candid shots captured Emyr and Charmaine from every angle, taken by the company’s employees, who had clearly been keeping a close watch on them.
Worried that Emyr might be embarrassed, Kane quickly added, “Don’t worry, Emyr. They’re not gossiping about you. They were just surprised you’re in a relationship, so they started talking about it on the internal network. It’s all in good fun!”
Emyr glanced at the phone, unfazed.
He’d sensed the attention ever since they entered the food court, but honestly, he didn’t mind.
There was nothing to be ashamed of. What surprised him was just how far they had gone with it…
After the teasing died down, Shawn, struggling to hold back his laughter, finally spoke. “Alright, alright, let’s delete those photos before Emyr’s temper flares up.”
The group hadn’t done that sooner because they had been waiting for Emyr to arrive so they could poke fun at him.
Kane was about to call the IT department when Emyr stopped him. “No need to delete them.”
The guys, who were trying to hold back laughter, froze in shock. “What?”
Emyr shot them a glance while wearing a mocking expression, as if criticizing them for being inexperienced. Then he walked into the dressing room, leaving them behind.
The group exchanged surprised glances.
After a brief silence, Kane slapped his forehead. “Oh, man. I think Emyr’s become a love–struck fool. He’s not even pretending to care about his reputation anymore.”
Sinnova nodded knowingly. “No doubt about it. He’s deep in it now.”
Even the proudest of men will eventually fall in love.
Meanwhile, Celeste had turned down Charmaine’s offer to pick her up and instead dragged her luggage into the hotel by herself.
