Olympia’s heart nearly stopped in rage as she clenched her teeth and hissed, “Rex! Are you really trying to go against my family?”
Rex didn’t answer. He simply took out his phone and made a call. On the other end, he gave a direct order, “Cancel all collaborations with the Nelsons. From now on, any project related to them, Ydris Group must snatch it away from them!”
He hung up sharply, raising an eyebrow at Olympia, whose face was growing darker by the second. The way Rex had handled the situation was so smooth and effortless, it was almost a work of art.
“You j*rk!!”
Olympia was about to explode in anger!
As the mistress of the Nelsons, she was used to others yielding to her every command. Olympia had never been treated like this before.
“Fine, Rex. You’ve said it. Don’t regret it later!”
Unable to stay another moment, she threw down an empty warning and stormed off to her car, slamming the door behind her. She shouted at the driver, “Why aren’t we moving?!”
The driver jumped in shock and hastily started the car.
Olympia, not properly settled, was jolted off balance and crashed into the back seat. As the car drove off, they could still hear her angry mutterings and curses in the distance.
-Rex, on the other hand, was practically glowing with pride. He couldn’t help but puff out his chest, shooting
a playful wink at Charmaine. “What do you think? Am I handsome or what?”
Charmaine remembered the look of fury on Olympia’s face but couldn’t do anything to Rex. She felt a little satisfaction as Rex had helped her vent out her frustration.
She gave a small smile. “You’re kind of cute.”
It might have been a simple compliment, but for Rex, it was a big deal.
His boss hadn’t praised him in centuries. This trip felt worth it.
Charmaine shook her head in amusement, but her smile faded when she saw Zayn still standing there, frozen like a statue.
She turned to the Ferrari and said, “Let’s go.”
Rex gave one last glance at Zayn, shaking his head as he followed.
As the car sped off, Rex noticed through the rearview mirror that Zayn was still staring in their direction. He clicked his tongue and muttered, “What’s with Zayn? Has he gone crazy? Could he really be charmed by your talents, Boss?”
A wicked thought crossed his mind, and he grinned mischeviously. “Imagine if Zayn ever finds out that the Robin he admires the most is actually his own sister, whom he’s been ignoring. I bet he’ll regret it so much.”

She didn’t give any directions as Rex dutifully drove the car into Eastlake, parking in front of the house he had arranged for Charmaine,
Charmaine opened her eyes. It was the first time in two lifetimes that she had come to this place.
Though unoccupied, the property was well–maintained, with a dedicated butler who kept it spotless. From the outside, the villa looked pristine as if no one had ever lived there.
Rex didn’t think much of it. He simply watched Charmaine remove her disguise as Robin before unbuckling his seatbelt.
Unable to hold back anymore, Rex said, “Boss, can’t I just go in and pet the kittens?”
He hurriedly pointed to the trunk. “I brought some snacks and toys for them. I want to give them to myself!”
Charmaine smiled faintly. “Maybe next time. Wait until I invite you. As for the snacks and toys …
She met his pleading eyes with a cold, unyielding look. “I’ll drop them off for you and send you some videos later.”
Rex clutched his heart in mock despair. He was completely defeated.
In the end, Charmaine stood at the gate, watching him closely. Rex had no choice but to leave.
Once the Ferrari was out of sight, Charmaine finally gathered her things and walked deeper into the estate.
Later that night.
After her nightly routine, Charmaine made sure to check Emyr’s pulse, taking the necessary steps to treat him, before settling cross–legged on the floor, casually scrolling through her phone.
Emyr, lying on the bed with his face resting on his arms, turned his head to silently watch her.
His gaze was intense and focused. Charmaine couldn’t ignore it.
She climbed over to him, picked up the phone that was left on the nightstand, and handed it to him. “Here, you can play with it.”
Emyr raised an eyebrow, both amused and exasperated. “Why would you think I want to play with my phone?”
Charmaine blinked innocently. “If you weren’t bored, why else would you keep staring at me?”
“You’re my fiancée, and I can’t even look at you?” Emyr teased.
“Of course, you can!” Charmaine laughed, lifting her finger to point at herself. “Mr. Emyr, would you like to admire my left profile or my right? I can adjust the angle for you so you can enjoy the view better.”
