Micah followed her in and spoke softly, “His injuries are severe. You performed the surgery yourself, so you know how it is. He’s only alive because of a miracle worker like you.
“His vital signs are not good. To be honest, they’re really bad. His kidneys and liver are already starting to fail. If it weren’t for his strong will to survive, he might have died.”
Charmaine responded in a quiet voice, “I know. I appreciate your help in having people take care of him.”
Micah waved his hand with a grin and said with a smile, “It’s nothing. Rex paid me a huge sum for his medical expenses. He paid enough to cover three years‘ worth of income for my spa. Who would turn down that kind of deal?”
Then, Micah, curious, asked, “But are you sure you want to keep paying for all this? The equipment and the team are from abroad, and they don’t come cheap. It’s okay for now, but if this goes on for too long…”
“Keep going. Let’s see how long he can hold on. Money is not an issue,” Charmaine replied.
“Got it!” Micah said, bowing slightly.
He glanced at Charmaine’s face, which showed no emotion, and couldn’t help but comment, “I don’t want to gossip or anything, but after all that’s happened with your family, I didn’t expect you to go all out to save Milo. Your dedication is really impressive.”
