Freya looked down at her hands, instinctively clenched into fists. It was a habit she had since childhood.
When she was anxious or angry, she would subconsciously curl her thumb tightly into her palm.

“Why did you do this? She
your grandmother!” Dale’s voice trembled with a mix of fury and sorrow.
“She loved you so much, she would have given her life to protect you, and now you’ve done this to her!”
Freya could no longer hold back. She screamed hysterically, “It wasn’t me! I didn’t know; I had no idea she was coming in for a check–up.”
She claimed, “I hated Robin. I wanted her gone from Havenwood Hospital, no, from all of Eragos! All I wanted was for Todd to make a mistake with the prescription–it was supposed to be an accident. I never thought it would hurt Grandma.”
“Yes, you didn’t know. But when you got Todd to set me up, you never thought about the consequences.”
Charmaine pulled up a video on her phone–the one she’d recorded earlier, showing Freya and Agatha lying about a medical emergency just to avoid waiting in line. “You’ve been so used to being selfish, and your grandmother has always indulged you.”
“Shut up! You have no right to criticize me! If it weren’t for you, Grandma wouldn’t be in this situation!” Freya yelled, her anger boiling over.
“How could I have a daughter as wicked as you?”
Dale struck Freya across the face again. This time, the slap was full force. Freya collapsed to the floor, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.
He pointed at Freya, trembling with pain a
fear on the ground, his eyes cold as he gazed at his daughter,
still unrepentant despite everything that had happened.
It was as though he were looking at a cold, terrifying stranger.
“You hurt an innocent person just because you hated someone. You’d do anything to get what you want, and now, look what you’ve done to your own family. Your grandmother spoiled you into this-”
Dale tilted his head back, bitterly laughing. “A fool who is digging her own gravel! This is karma, all of it!”
Madge covered her face, sobbing uncontrollably.
Nobody could have anticipated the unexpected course of events. The atmosphere was heavy, and the room filled with a quiet, tense energy.
Just then, there was a stir outside. The head nurse rushed in and said, “The patients who were evacuated earlier are back, and there are reporters with them. They’re all speaking up for Dr. Robin.”
As she spoke, a loudspeaker blared, “Dr. Robin would never make a mistake with a prescription! The hospital needs to clear her name!”
“That’s right! Dr. Robin was so careful with my medication. She even told me repeatedly how and when to

Ingram, with a knowing look, said, “The eyes of the patients are the clearest!”

When everyone thought back to the way they had pressured Robin earlier, forcing her to bow and apologize, mocking her for refusing to admit any wrong.
The shame weighed heavily on them.
Dale walked over to Charmaine, his face grim. He bowed deeply.
“I’m sorry, Dr. Robin. It’s my fault for not raising my daughter properly.”
When he stood up, his eyes were red with emotion. “As for everything happening out there, my family will take full responsibility and explain things to the public. Dr. Robin, I owe you a favor. If you ever need anything, just ask, and I will repay you with all my might.”
Charmaine didn’t speak, and Dale said nothing more.
He made a promise, and he would keep it.
After the Whites left, the hallway and office were suddenly silent and empty.
Anthony, eager to shift attention, nervously laughed. “Wow, what a mess this turned out to be! Dr. Robin has been wronged here!”
When everyone turned to look at him, he quickly put on the sycophantic smile he had used earlier with the Whites. However, he aimed his flattery at Charmaine this time.
“Dr. Robin, you really proved yourself today. In such a situation, you stood firm and defended your innocence. Truly, as Master Field’s student, you have a strong character. Most people couldn’t do that.”
Ingram’s expression remained stern. Anthony had crossed a boundary by sneaking the Whites in and causing trouble. He had broken the hospital’s rules and violated Ingram’s limit.
“Dr. Mendoza, you bribed the review physician to get your son’s internship shortened. Your previous contributions led me to overlook the situation, but now you’ve joined forces with outsiders to damage the hospital’s reputation and harm your colleague, I simply can’t keep someone like you around.”
Anthony was shocked and terrified. He quickly begged for forgiveness, “I’m sorry, Dr. Pearce. Please, give me another chance!”
