Zayn snapped out of his daze, realizing his lapse in manners, and quickly looked away. “Sorry, that was rude
of me.”
Then, he seemed to remember something and reached behind him to grab a bag. “Ms. Robin, I didn’t realize you liked pets. These are some supplies I bought for the kittens. I hope they’ll be useful to you.”
Inside the bag were various pet items, including food bowls and clothes with luxury brand logos.
Seeing this, Leah chimed in to explain, “Ms. Robin, please ignore his lapse in manner. Zayn has always admired you, and he didn’t expect to be so close to you. He’s just a little too excited.
“When my brother found out you liked cats, he even went to the store personally to pick out these gifts. He never wastes time on anything other than medical research.”
She chuckled playfully, clearly trying to play matchmaker. “I’ve never seen Zayn be this nice to any woman besides my mom and me!”
Zayn’s face immediately turned uncomfortable. “Leah!”
Leah laughed even more brightly and raised her hands in playful surrender. “Alright, I’ll stop,” she said with a grin.
She turned to chat with the celebrity guests next to her.
The flustered Zayn lowered his head and apologized to Charmaine, “I’m sorry, my sister is spoiled and uncouth. If she offended you, Ms. Robin, I apologize on her behalf.”
Charmaine chuckled lightly and casually replied, “Mr. Nelson, you really dotes on your sister.”
Zayn didn’t think much of it and followed her lead. “We have a lot of boys in the family, and she’s the only girl in our generation. She’s my only sister, so I’m supposed to spoil her.”
Charmaine’s expression remained unchanged as she looked at his fake sincerity.
She is your only sister?
Hmph.
Seeing Charmaine stare at him with a half–smile, Zayn felt an unexplainable discomfort.

Was Robin wary of him?
He shook his head, then reached out again to offer the bag. “Ms. Robin, we don’t have any pets at home. If you don’t take this, it’ll go to waste.”
“Alright then, thank you.”
Charmaine took the bag and handed it to a staff member, asking them to take it back to her office.
If it’s free, why not take it?
Besides, Zayn had scared the kittens twice, so she wasn’t going to refuse on their behalf.
Seeing her accept the gift, Zayn felt an inexplicable sense of pleasure in his heart.
Was this a sign that from now on, Ms. Robin wouldn’t distance herself from him?
The filming continued, and Charmaine took a few photos of the food to send to Emyr, then placed her phone on the table and quietly watched the guests interact.
Noticing that Charmaine wasn’t responding, Zayn gathered his courage and began asking her medical questions, which she answered one by one.
Zayn’s admiration for her became even more apparent.
During the break, Leah made a round through the cafeteria and returned to sit next to Zayn. She whispered, “Zayn, I haven’t seen Charmaine. Do you think she’s upset with us and won’t attend this event?”
Zayn’s face darkened immediately. “Why bring her up?”
“I’m just worried. If she arrived later, I’m afraid something bad might happen
Leah looked a little aggrieved. When she noticed Robin looking at her, she seemed to remember something and tried to explain.
