As more and more patients crowded over, Charmaine realized that something was off.
Even if the patients were to question her, it was impossible for a commotion like this to erupt in such a short amount of time.
Charmaine’s heart sank. She discreetly pressed the red button under the table.
In the crowd, someone had started throwing an egg at the clinic floor.
The moment someone took the lead, others followed suit, venting their anger.
“You’re gonna pay for this, you unethical doctor!”
“She’s covered herself up. Everyone, let’s pull her away to see what she’s hiding underneath!‘
There were even people trying to rush in to attack Charmaine.
At this point, the production team finallly realized that something was off. They tried to push their way in to help, but they couldn’t squeeze past the elderly folks.
Zayn had finally understood that this was not scripted by the production team.
“Crap. Something has happened.”
Zayn, too, wanted to rush in to help, but Leah quickly held onto his arm to stop him as things heated up.
“Zayn, don’t. It’s not safe.”
Zayn looked at Leah’s pale face, and then the overcrowded consultation room. Zayn started to feel
anxious.
Just as the situation was escalating, the security guards and some hospital supervisors finally arrived.
The elderly folks saw that things were getting out of hand when police was involved, so they immediately ceased fire.
The corridor was finally cleared. Zayn pushed Leah aside and pushed open the door into the cosultation room. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw Charmaine holding a stun baton before her, keeping the crowd at bay.
Thank goodness nothing had happened.
However, the consultation room was in disarray, with ten eggs and vegetable leaves scattered all over the floor.

The police officers walked in, their presence commanding attention. “What’s going on here? Can’t you talk things out? You’re gathered here to cause trouble, and I see that you have assaulted a doctor? This is a serious matter.”
The elderly folks, who were just acting like hooligans earlier, started wailing and crying.
“We were wronged, officers! We didn’t lay a hand on her!” one of them cried.
“That’s right. We’re all here to see a doctor. Who among us, with our old bodies, would choose to fight a young person like her? Officer, you’ve arrived just in time. Please see through her disguise–she’s a fraud. She’s charging exorbitant registration fees. You can’t let her treat us like this!” another exclaimed.
“Exactly! What kind of doctor is she? Clearly, something is off!” another elderly person added.
“We’re not trying to cause trouble. We just need things to be done right by the hospital!” an elderly person explained.
The police officer looked toward Charmaine, glancing at the doctor’s nameplate on the desk. “Dr. Robin?”
Charmaine put away the stun baton and placed it back in the drawer.
While the patients grew increasingly unruly, Charmaine remained composed.
“Yes. I am the doctor on duty today,” she said firmly. “Allow me to clarify. First of all, a doctor’s attire has no bearing on her medical competence. Whether I cover my face or not has no direct relation to my medical skills. Secondly, the registration fee today is for a specialist consultation. The fee is five dollars, with insured patients paying only four dollars after a reduced co–payment. As for the 1,400 dollars you mentioned, that is a private transaction between individual patients and has nothing to do with the doctor or the hospital.”
At this moment, the old woman who had complained about paying a 1,400 dollar registration fees immediately started protested, “What do you mean it has nothing to do with the hospital? It wasn’t easy for me to get a slot to see a doctor. If I had known earlier that the doctor is so young and inexperienced, I definitely wouldn’t have paid a single cent.”
“Oh, is that so?” Charmaine countered, “Judging by your attire, you don’t seem to come from a wealthy family, so why spend 1,000 dollars blindly without researching the doctor’s credentials?”
Charmaine calmly pointed out the flaws in her words nonchalantly. Her gaze sharp as if she had already seen through everything.
The crowd murmured in agreement.
Wouldn’t it be foolish to spend 1,000 dollars on mere registration without finding out the doctor’s
credentials?
The old woman was left speechless by Charmaine’s rebuttal. She noticed everyone’s eyes were on her. “Doesn’t matter whether I am rich or not. I just can’t stand quack doctors like you doing more harm than good. That’s not acceptable!” she sputtered.
