Chapter 33 What’s Your Game Here?
How to describe it?
It feels pretty satisfying!
Leah is the one who always acts so modest, right?
And the Nelsons, always singing Leah’s praises, convinced she’s their ticket to fame and fortune?
Well, she’s going to shatter their golden pedestal!
She’s going to make them even more “noteworthy“!

As the paramedics arrived to take Leah away, the Nelsons trailed after them, their exit marking the end of the spectacle, Charmaine dusted her hands off, gave a small clap, and strolled out with ease.
Outside of Ydris Tower, Charmaine swiftly sent a message to Rex, “I’ll transfer today’s expenses to you later.”
This was just another round of PR and groundwork for the judges and reporters–an effort that would easily rack up around a million.
Rex who was watching the live broadcast upstairs quickly replied, “I’m in a good mood today. All expenses
are on me!”
Charmaine’s smile faltered for a split second when a voice, cold and ominous as a demon’s whisper drifted from ahead, “What’s so amusing? Care to share?”
She froze on the spot.
Quickly and without drawing attention, she slipped her phone into her pocket.
Looking up, she immediately replaced her expression with a sweet, flattering smile aimed at the man in the sleek Maybach in front of her. “What a coincidence. Mr. Emyr. What brings you here?”
Emyr didn’t bother replying. His gaze had already shifted elsewhere, leaving her to admire his chiseled, indifferent profile.
Ahead, Alfred motioned impatiently for her to get in the car.
Charmaine hurried over, only to realize there was no room left in the front seats. She glanced towards the sleek black vehicle trailing behind them. “There’s no space. I’ll just take the car in the back…”
“Get in.”
“But
I’m not repeating myself.”
Charmaine hesitated for a moment. Faced with the choice of being strangled by Emyr Cross now or a little later, she opted for the latter.
She figured there might still be a chance to salvage the situation.

Charmaine circled to the other side of the car and climbed in, practically pressing herself against the door, sitting sideways as if trying to create as much distance as possible.
Emyr cast her a frosty glance, his expression dripping with disdain at her laughable attempt to go unnoticed. With a faint scoff, he gave a curt order, “Home.”
As his words fell, the Maybach smoothly rolled forward merging onto the main road.
Charmaine perched on the edge of the seat, hardly in a stable position.
When the car unexpectedly sped up, she lurched forward before being thrown back by the momentum.
In the midst of the jarring motion, she ended up shifting from the side near the door to dangerously close to Emyr’s leg.
The heat radiating from his body through the slight brush of his fingers was undeniable and hard to overlook!
Charmaine hesitated before lifting her eyes to meet Emyr’s intense stare.
His gaze was dark and unreadable, more unsettling than the depths of an ancient abyss.
She tried to inch away, hoping to retreat back toward the door.
But just as she made the move, the car jerked to a sudden halt, throwing her off balance once again.
As if things weren’t bad enough, Charmaine landed face–first onto Emyr’s lap.
It was firm and warm–was that muscle?
Rubbing her forehead, she shot a glare at Tad, who was driving.
Tad unfazed, simply said, “It’s just a red light, Ms. Nelson. Sit properly.”
Charmaine was speechless.
She really wanted to sit properly!
The problem was from the moment she got in the car, she hadn’t even had a chance to buckle her seatbelt.
Muttering to herself, she tried to sit up, only to be met by a cold, mocking voice.
“Are you purposely sitting like that hoping you’ll fall straight into my arms?”
Charmaine snapped her head around, “You really know how to be more full of yourself, don’t you?”
Emyr smirked, “So, you’re going to pretend that the distance between us just now wasn’t your meticulous. planning?”
“That was just a coincidence!”
“Oh.”
Charmaine’s heart raced.

She huffed and turned her gaze out the window, where the billboard was still live–streaming the chaos that had just happened.
The reporters had trailed the Nelsons to the hospital.
oom.
Leah was quickly taken into the emergency Olympia and Valda showed up shortly after, joined by the Reads, all nervously waiting outside.
The Nelsons had security block the crowd, shutting down any attempts for interviews or explanations.
As this unfolded, the mockery of the Nelsons was spreading fast online.
Charmaine was lost in thought, wondering how Leah would manage to win back the Nelsons once again, when Emyr’s voice broke through her thoughts. “Charmaine, what’s your game here?”
“What?”
She glanced back at him, completely puzzled.
Before she could react, Emyr had leaned in, his towering presence closing the distance and cornering her against the seat.
