Willard paused for a moment, then added, “They get along so well. If they could intern together and support each other, they’d probably achieve something great.”
Alessa smiled lightly, pretending not to notice the subtle suggestion in his tone. “Helping classmates is just part of what they should do. As for achievements, they’re still young. They need more time to grow and gain experience.”
Alessa remained calm, clearly not showing any intention of choosing Leah.
Willard’s expression turned awkward.
Meanwhile, the assistant announced that Nelson Group had chosen Leah.
Leah noticed the others in the audience, who showed no reaction–even playing with their phones without sparing her a glance. Her frustration boiled over as she clenched her fists, unwilling to accept it.
She stepped forward, her expression serious. “Nelson Group is my family’s business, and my father and brothers chose me out of care and support. But I want to join the draw like everyone else and earn the opportunity to truly challenge myself.”
Her words caused a stir among the crowd.
“Wow, Leah really thinks big!”
“Now this is what a real career–driven woman looks like! I used to think she was just a delicate rich girl who couldn’t handle hard work, but now I’ve changed my opinion about her.”

Alessa smiled but said nothing.
The old principal nodded. “All right, since you’ve chosen to decline Mr. Nelson’s offer, you can join the draw.”
The drawing screen began to roll, and Leah’s name popped up, showing Cross Group as her assigned internship company.
The crowd erupted once again.
“Leah’s luck is unreal!”
“Of course, she’s the daughter of the Nelsons. With luck like that, it’s no surprise she’s so pampered–and dating Daniel!”
Celeste rolled her eyes dramatically. “What kind of ridiculous luck does she have?!”
Charmaine thought for a moment and realized that the homeless man who had somehow blended into Eastlake must have had a bit of luck on his side.
Leah was so taken aback that she covered her face in disbelief!
Her luck had truly come back!

As the crowd cheered wildly, Leah walked off the stage, her face beaming with pride.
The host raised their voice, cutting through the noise. “Next, let’s invite the student who ranked first to come up!”
Leah paused as she was about to return to her seat, her gaze lingering on the grade rankings, curious about who the top student was–the one who hadn’t shown up yet.
Her eyes swept across the crowd, scanning the students.
Then, suddenly, her eyes widened as she noticed the quiet girl who had been blending into the crowd. The girl stood up calmly.
In an instant, the bustling auditorium fell silent. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Charmaine gracefully walked up to the stage and stood shoulder to shoulder with the other top students from other departments.
After a brief silence, a huge uproar erupted in the auditorium.
“What the heck, the mysterious top student is Charmaine again?!”
“How is that possible? Didn’t she fail the listening part? Yet she still managed to get first place? Is she even human?”
“This is ridiculous, are we sure there was no foul play involved?!”
As everyone was in shock and doubt, a message popped up in the class group chat.
Celeste shared a screenshot, revealing Charmaine’s report card.
She’d been waiting for this moment!
Seeing everyone’s stunned faces–especially Leah’s, who looked like she’s about to snap–Celeste couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
