A bodyguard hesitated before stepping forward. “The sunrise is almost over. Should we wake up Mr. Emyr and Ms. Nelson?”
Tad glanced over and waved a hand. “Mr. Emyr didn’t get much rest last night. Let him sleep. If he wants to watch the sunrise with Ms. Nelson, there will be plenty of chances.”
That said, Tad still took a photo from a distance.
By the time the two finally woke up, the sun was already high in the sky.
Over the past couple of days, their classmates had already made their way down the mountain on their own, leaving Charmaine and Celeste behind.
Worried that Rex might run into Charmaine and Emyr on their way out, Celeste quickly came up with an excuse and had Rex drop her off at home first.
Of course, Rex wasn’t happy about it. He had followed them all the way up the mountain and still hadn’t even caught a glimpse of his boss. How could he just turn back now?
Yet, every time he looked at Celeste, his eyes kept drifting to her lips.
The moment he glanced at her lips, his mind went straight to his first kiss…
In the end, he had no choice but to resign himself to fate and reluctantly drive Celeste back to Eragos.
Meanwhile, Charmaine sat on the couch, rubbing her temples as she scrolled through the messages on her phone, still feeling groggy.
Seeing her looking both drowsy and disappointed, Emyr–wide awake and refreshed–curled his lips into a faint smirk, feeling unexpectedly content.
Especially when he saw the photo Tad had sent him.
Through the glass, with the soft morning mist blurring the view, their figures weren’t entirely clear–yet the scene carried an undeniable warmth and comfort.
Once their luggage was packed, they made their way down the mountain and headed back to Eragos.
Emyr had Tad drop Charmaine off at Eastlake first before heading to the office himself.
After nearly a full day of intermittent sleep, Charmaine was feeling completely recharged.
Freshly washed and dressed, she confirmed the meeting location with Basil, then grabbed a cab to the government building.
The area outside the government building was packed, with strict security checks for anyone entering or exiting.
The cab driver stretched his neck to get a better look. “Why’s security so tight today? I’ve seen people getting turned away from work. You sure you don’t want me to take you back, ma’am?”
Charmaine smiled. “Thanks, but I’m allowed in. Just drop me off here. I’ll head in myself.”

The driver didn’t leave right away, figuring it wouldn’t be long before the young lady came right back.
To his surprise, he watched as she effortlessly passed through the strict security checks. No one even stopped her–they let her walk straight into the building.
The cab driver was stunned. He smacked his forehead and muttered to himself, “What was I thinking? Someone from Eastlake isn’t in the same league as regular office workers!”
No wonder she caught his attention the moment she got in the car. She wasn’t just beautiful, her presence carried a certain elegance that was hard to ignore.
It was Charmaine’s first time here, so she approached a staff member to ask for directions to Meeting Room 17. The moment they looked at her, their expression shifted, their gaze now filled with respect.
“You can take the elevator from here. Please come in.”
“Thank you.”
Meeting Room 17 was on the 17th floor, taking up the entire level.
After passing the last security check, a secretary knocked on the reinforced double doors of the conference room for her.
The moment she stepped inside, every gaze in the room shifted to her.
The deep red round table was filled with people.
Basil and the others were all present, including the director and senior officials from the hospital, as well as Micah Miller. On the other side sat several highly respected leaders, frequently seen on television making important statements.
Charmaine remained poised and composed. After a slight bow, she walked over and took the empty seat next to Basil.
With a warm smile, Basil formally introduced her, “This is my somewhat disappointing student, Robin.”
The previously puzzled attendees immediately understood.
No wonder Basil had been so full of praise for the young pianist at the diplomatic summit.
No matter how talented she was, his praise had seemed a bit excessive at the time.
Now, everyone understood–he absolutely doted on his student.
But before Basil could enjoy his moment of pride, Kenneth, Joe, and Ian on the other side of the table began to loudly interrupt, each trying to be heard.
“You old geezer! How is this girl only your student? She’s ours too!”
“Exactly! Charmaine is also my beloved student!”
“And mine too! She’s been learning martial arts from me the longest–if we’re talking seniority, I should be called her first teacher!”
Basil huffed, glaring at them. “Oh, please! None of you ever announced having a personal student before. Don’t try to claim her now. Shoo, shoo!”
