In less than half an hour, three pounds of crayfish were thoroughly cleaned. Their shells gleamed and were reflective.
She happily carried the crayfish back, rolled up her sleeves, and began cooking.
First, she deep–fried the cleaned crayfish until they turned bright red, then scooped them out and set them aside.
She smashed some garlic, chopped green onions, sliced ginger, and prepared the seasonings. Then, she tossed them into the pan along with the instant noodles, stir–frying them together.
Once fragrant, she added the fried crayfish, stir–fried them again, sprinkled in a couple of bay leaves and some peppercorns, then poured in enough water to submerge the crayfish and covered the pot to let them simmer.
-Since the crayfish needed time to cook, Charmaine didn’t stay idle. She tidied up the stove a bit, washed
two cucumbers, took a bite of one herself, and handed the other to Emyr.
Satan twitched the corner of his mouth. “You want me to eat this?”
Charmaine blinked. “Of course, I wouldn’t let you suffer by only eating cucumbers. This is just to tide over.”
Satan remained stubborn. “I’m not hungry.”

Charmaine didn’t force him. “Alright then, if you’re not eating, that’s even better. I needed something for the side dish anyway.”
Emyr was speechless.
About 15 minutes later, Charmaine lifted the lid. Instantly, the entire suite was filled with a rich, spicy, and mouthwatering aroma that sparked one’s appetite.
She tossed the cucumber Emyr had refused to eat into the pan, stir–fried it for two minutes, then turned off the heat and plated the dish.
A steaming, fragrant, and visually enticing plate of crayfish was brought to the desk.
Emyr’s temple twitched. Charmaine pressed her palms together in a pleading gesture, her tone sincere. “There’s no extra dining table in the room, so I’ll borrow this desk for half an hour. I promise I’ll clean it up afterward.”
Emyr let out a cold scoff. Charmaine immediately knew that meant he had agreed.
Grinning, she washed her hands, sat down at the desk, and eagerly began eating.

Watching her scrunch up her face in distress, Emyr couldn’t help but chuckle. “Idiot.”
Charmaine wrinkled her nose. “That was just a moment of carelessness!”

Carefully, she picked up another crayfish and placed it her bowl, waiting a moment before blowing on it to ensure it wasn’t too hot. Only then did she reach fort again.
Her movements were practiced–three swift motions, and the plump, translucent meat was freed from its shell, steaming with heat.
Charmaine dipped the meat into the spicy sauce, then brought it to her lips.
At the same time, she snuck a glance at Emyr. He looked indifferent as if he wasn’t paying attention, but he remained seated at the desk, not leaving.
Suppressing a smile, she changed the direction of her hand and, with a teasing little “Ah” sound, brought the piece of shrimp to Emyr’s lips.
The scent of spices lingered in the air, accompanied by the soft, cool touch of her fingertips brushing against his lips.
Emyr was momentarily stunned, failing to react right away.
Charmaine nudged the crayfish a little closer, pressing it gently against the corner of his lips. “I washed my hands thoroughly. Try it, really–it’s delicious. I wouldn’t lie to you.”
Emyr’s deep gaze lingered on her slightly flushed face. As if under some mysterious spell, he actually gave in to her coaxing and opened his mouth.
The plump, bouncy crayfish meat, infused with rich spices, filled his mouth with a flavor he had never known before.
Charmaine’s eyes sparkled as she watched him expectantly. “Well? Tasty, right?”
Even eating crayfish, Satan remained elegant, chewing slowly and deliberately before finally giving his verdict. “It’s alright.”
Charmaine pouted. “How could it just be alright? It’s clearly delicious! I even used less chili on purpose, just in case you couldn’t handle the spice.”
Back then, when she made spicy crayfish for a group of old men–without even using instant mixed seasoning–they licked the shells clean and couldn’t stop praising it!
Satan was just being stubborn!
He raised an eyebrow. “I told you, I don’t eat this.”

As she spoke, she quickly peeled another shrimp, her practiced hands working efficiently, before shoving it toward his lips. “Here.”
Emvr opened his mouth, intending to refuse.
