Emyr scoffed coldly, “She wanted to join the crowd, she only has herself to blame.”
He sneered, then glanced over at the live stream again,
In sharp contrast to Leah, who was thriving in the spotlight, Charmaine, partially obscured in the corner, looked utterly pitiful.
Emyr tapped his long fingers on the table. “Did she tell you what she plans to do at Ydris Group?”
Alfred quickly replied, “Ms. Read mentioned she was going to see a play.”
“Oh, a play? She certainly has the time for that,” Emyr said with a chuckle.
He picked up a nearby document and skimmed through it at lightning speed, signing his name in a bold, flowing script.
Seeing him so quickly engrossed in work, Alfred decided not to say anything more.
He knew Emyr’s temper. Saying too much would be pointless.
Just as he was feeling sorry for Charmaine, he suddenly heard the man’s deep, magnetic voice give an
order, “Prepare the car and bring my maid back.”
Alfred was delighted. “Got it!”
The second round began on schedule, and the venue’s doors slowly closed.
The lights inside dimmed, and everyone turned their attention to the stage.
The host stepped out to deliver the opening remarks, then proceeded to call out the names of the designers participating in the second round.
“Morgan Locks, Charmaine Dawson, Leah Dawson…
What?

The Nelsons stiffened when they heard Charmaine’s name on the list for the second round.
Leah’s expression turned tense as she clenched her fists tightly.

As long as they pass the second round and have the chance to meet Rex, it would be beneficial for the Nelsons.
Leah quickly grasped Willard’s implication, her downcast expression briefly betraying an unspoken frustration that went unnoticed by the others.
“And those are the participants who have signed in for today’s second round. Any remaining participants who did not sign in will not be eligible to compete.”
“Next, we will announce the theme for today’s second round. Contestants are to design based on the theme of ‘Hope. You will have five hours to create your initial sketches and produce a prototype in the provided fashion studio. Each of you will be assigned two professional assistants to help with the sample creation. The final winner will be chosen through votes from both the judges and the live audience.”
As the host announced the competition, the audience erupted in murmurs.
“Ydris Group certainly lived up to its status as a major company. Even setting up a small fashion studio. So grand!”
“Indeed, money affords the luxury of extravagance!”
After the host finished explaining the rules, the competition officially commenced.

The contestants made their way to the backstage work areas, each given a private space to avoid interruptions, while the live stream continued to broadcast the event.
As Emyr’s car pulled up downstairs, he caught sight of Charmaine entering the work area on the live
stream.
Emyr was at a loss for words.
He fixed a sharp gaze on Alfred. “Are you sure she only took a half–day off?”
Alfred forced a smile. “Mr. Emyr, I think Ms. Read meant that one full day can also count as half a day.”
“Ha!”
Tad turned from the driver’s seat. “Mr. Emyr, should we go back?”
Emyr pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling the tension rising. “No, we’re not going back.”
“Ah?”
“I have to personally drag her back today!” His eyes sparkled with determination.
He didn’t have the chance to confront her last night, but today, he wouldn’t let her slip away.
The woman who dared to feed him pig intestines.

On the 18th floor, Charmaine felt a sudden shiver.
