With her arms crossed, Veronica observed the scene unfold and suddenly remarked, “Celeste, Charmaine, you two don’t look too happy, do you?”
Celeste, unable to hold back any longer, immediately lifted her head and snapped, “Yeah, I’m not happy. So what? You all act like you’re doing something impressive–showing off these trivial things as if they’re a big deal. Who do you think you’re fooling?”
Veronica smirked, deliberately fanning the flames.
“Oh? If you’re that tough, why don’t you call someone for help? If you don’t want Daniel’s assistance, then feel free to climb out of here yourself. No one’s begging you to stay.”
Celeste wanted to argue further, but the risk of offending Daniel made her hesitate. Meanwhile, several classmates, equally stuck in this mess, turned their frustration on her.
“Celeste, just stop talking! We’re the ones in need of help right now!”
“If you’re so upset, then leave by yourself. Why drag the rest of us into it?”
“Daniel didn’t even hold a grudge against Charmaine for embarrassing him, and here you are, throwing a tantrum! Even if you have personal issues, can’t you at least consider the rest of us?”

Glances were exchanged, awkwardness settling over them as they recognized their mistake. The atmosphere grew unbearably tense.

Pulling out her phone, she was about to call Rex. She already found that he had been following them all along ever since they’d set off.
Just then, car horns blared through the air. A convoy of sleek, black Mercedes–Benz G500s rumbled over the muddy mountain road with ease, stopping directly behind Charmaine.
The window of the center vehicle slowly lowered, revealing a chiseled profile–cold, arrogant, and almost unnervingly perfect.
Instantly, all eyes turned toward the man inside, his presence so commanding that it felt almost divine. A hush fell over the group as they unconsciously held their breath.
It was Emyr–the man standing at the pinnacle of power.
Daniel’s expression shifted to one of pure disbelief. “M–Mr. Emyr?”
Leah’s eyes widened in shock.
Veronica, initially thrilled, quickly noticed something that soured her mood–Emyr’s gaze was locked on Charmaine. Her fists clenched with jealousy.
