The chat went quiet, with everyone unsure of what to say next.
Seeing this, Celeste’s eyes welled up with tears as she realized she had unintentionally made things worse for Charmaine because of Leah!
Her anger flared, “These two, I swear I’m going to set them straight!”
Charmaine placed a hand on her shoulder, swiftly typing a response.
Her fingers flew over the phone screen, and soon Charmaine’s reply appeared on Celeste’s phone. “Flies are annoying, but I respect life.”

Celeste was delighted by Charmaine’s reply, and she held her stomach laughing.
Charmaine put down her phone and continued eating.
Celeste’s laughter lasted for nearly five minutes, and after slowly stopping, she wiped away tears from the corners of her eyes.

Charmaine paused momentarily in her eating, then resumed even more vigorously.
Celeste watched, increasingly baffled.
Why did it seem like she was rushing as if she were in the emperor’s court?
After quickly finishing her meal, Charmaine wiped her hands with a napkin.
Charmaine gracefully stood up, taking Emyr’s bowl to add more dishes. “I’m worried, so I better eat up before I try to soothe him.”
Celeste was taken aback.
She had thought Charmaine was bold enough to brush off Emyr’s mood swings.
