Charmaine looked up at him, but Emyr did not meet her gaze, instead curtly saying, “Hurry up and turn off the lights and go to sleep.”
“I’m going to wash up,” she quickly hid her phone and escaped into the bathroom.
Emyr watched her leave, a complex look in his eyes.
He found himself recalling Kane’s words, “Don’t you want Charmaine to love not just your body but your soul?”

Absurdly, he realized he did.
Emyr shook his head, dismissing the ridiculous thought that had just crossed his mind.
He then angrily sent a voice message to Tad, “Starting tomorrow, Kane is not allowed back here to cause more trouble.”
Tad replied, “Yes, Mr. Emyr.”
Over the next few weeks, Bennett and Cash made regular trips to the casino.
Each visit seemed to magically boost their bank account by tens or even hundreds of thousands.

Bennett bristled, “Are you suggesting I’m cheating?”
Before Julius could reply, Bennett continued, “You think I’m desperate? My daughter, tied to the wealthy Nelson family, mixes with the elites of Eragos. Do you really think I care about a few million from your casino?”
Julius hurriedly apologized, “I didn’t mean any disrespect, Mr. Read. I was merely commenting on your good fortune. Please accept my apologies.”
Bennett scoffed, “If I couldn’t afford to lose, I wouldn’t bother with your casino chain. It’s hardly worth my
time!”
With that, he stormed off with Cash, their departure quick and tense.
They caught a taxi outside, both exhaling in relief once they were seated.
Cash looked up at Bennett in awe. “Mr. Bennett, that was impressive! You really put the manager in his place.”
Bennett nonchalantly dismissed the praise, basking in the glow of his flattery. “Just a small showdown, nothing to fret over.”
