“The Four Elders? Who are they?”
“Seriously? Are you even from Valasia? How do you not know about The Four Elders? There’s National Healer Basil Field, Grandmaster of Martial Arts Ian Nicholson, Pioneer of Agriculture Joe Presley, and-”
“And Aviation Trailblazer Kenneth Day.”
In the classroom, the class president turned leisurely in his seat and added to the heated discussion behind him. “These four national veterans are the backbone of our country. It’s because of them and other pioneers in their fields that Valasia has advanced so rapidly in the past few decades, rising to become a global powerhouse.
“They dedicated most of their lives to the nation. The youngest of them must be over 70 by now. A few years ago, they passed their responsibilities to the next generation and set off on a worldwide journey. To avoid disturbances, they’ve kept their whereabouts completely private–finding them has been nearly impossible.
“Even though they no longer hold official positions, their influence in Valasia remains untouchable. A single word from any of them could cause a ripple effect across the entire country,”
“So that’s why! No wonder Eragos has been under such strict regulations lately. I’ve been seeing patrols every night!”
“Of course! These are pillars of the nation. They deserve the highest level of security. But for the elites of Eragos, this summit is an incredible opportunity.”
The class president shook his head knowingly. “There’s always someone greater. These elders stand at the very peak. For those ambitious enough to climb even higher, gaining their favor could be a golden ticket to the top.”
Some students who had only a vague understanding of the situation suddenly grasped the weight of his words. Their discussions grew even more exciting as they fantasized about the kind of life one could lead if they managed to build connections with such powerful figures.
Seated to the side, Leah and Veronica listened to the commotion with amused disdain.

Veronica scoffed mockingly. “You’re all dreaming. Do you really think the elders are people you can just meet? Let alone expect to be taken under their wing? What a joke.”
Caught off guard by her blunt ridicule, the students fell into silence, exchanging awkward glances.
Some looked indignant, others were unwilling to back down–but none dared to argue back.
Because, deep down, they knew she was right.

She let out a lazy sigh. “Not just The Four Elders–any top figure in any industry is nearly impossible for ordinary people to meet. It’s just how the world works.”
Veronica’s eyes gleamed as she grinned. “Well, those nobodies may never get the chance, but we’re different. Leah, I heard from my parents that the Nelsons were invited to the diplomatic summit too.”
Leah nodded. “Yes, Jonah received an invitation.”
“Your brother dotes on you. I bet he’ll take you with him.”
Leah shook her head modestly. “It’s a business event. Jonah takes work very seriously.”
Veronica giggled. “Even if your brother doesn’t take you, it’s no big deal. You’re a company owner now! Milo’s entertainment company is in your hands, after all. You’re officially the richest one among us–your personal assets alone are worth more than everyone here combined!”
The moment she said this, the classroom erupted.
“Whoa! Leah’s brother is actually attending a meeting with the biggest names in the country? That’s insane!” “Of course! The Nelsons are one of the top five prestigious families!”
“Leah, your family treats you way too well. You wanted to enter the entertainment industry, so Milo opened an entertainment company for you–and it even became one of the top three in the business. Now, your family just handed you an entire corporation worth billions before you’ve even graduated. Your life is like a cheat code!”
Hearing the admiration and envy in their voices, Leah couldn’t stop the smile from curling at her lips. She wanted to remain humble, but deep down, she couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride.
Leah gave Veronica a gentle nudge and whispered, “Veronica, stop talking about it. I don’t want my sister to feel upset.”
