Chapter 214 Milo Is Missing
Willard gritted his teeth. “Fine! Still playing dumb, huh?”
He pulled a stack of papers from his pocket and threw them onto the floor.

Then, he jabbed a finger at Charmaine’s face furiously and spat, “You keep saying you’ve cut ties with us, but how much money have you drained from Milo behind our backs? His entire account is empty! On top of that, he’s racked up a mountain of credit card debt. He blew tens of millions in just a month–all on designer clothes and luxury goods for you!
“Last night, after you left, Milo followed. He kept insisting that what happened back then wasn’t an accident. No one’s been able to reach him since. His phone is off and his car GPS is disabled! I checked this morning -his last call was to you!”
Willard’s voice cracked with desperation. “And you dare tell me you don’t know where he is?”
Charmaine froze.
Milo… is missing?
She recalled the call from last night and her mind replayed his words.
“Just give me a little more time…”
Her expression remained unreadable, but a cold smirk tugged at her lips as she met Willard’s furious gaze. “So, Mr. Nelson, you’re here throwing a tantrum because you’re too incompetent to find your own son?”
“Milo went missing because of you! Do you have no conscience at all, Charmaine? He gave you everything, ~and now you don’t even care where he is?” Willard bellowed.
“I never asked for his money,” Charmaine said calmly.
“He gave it to me of his own free will. I didn’t take anything from him. And I have no idea where he is.”
“You shameless-!” Willard seethed, but seeing Charmaine’s indifferent attitude, his anger spiraled into frustration.
Left with no other option, he turned to Emyr, hoping to drive a wedge between them.
“Mr. Emyr, you heard her! Charmaine has no heart. No matter how much you protect her or how well you treat her, she will never be grateful. The moment she finds someone bigger, stronger–she’ll drop you without a second thought!”
Emyr remained unfazed as if he had already resigned himself to the fate of a ruler blinded by a beautiful woman. He scoffed, his words stabbing straight into Willard’s already shattered pride.
“Mr. Nelson, rest assured. The Crosses will never fall into decline like the Nelsons. No matter what happens, I will always be Charmaine’s greatest and most powerful backer.”
Willard’s face darkened.
The young man before him was arrogant, untamed, and worst of all, he had the power to back it up.
There was nothing Willard could do to shake him.

Willard stormed out, seething, but he was so flustered that he tripped on the doorstep.
Charmaine’s eyes gleamed with amusement as she watched him stumble away.
Turning back to Emyr, she immediately switched to flattery mode.
“Mr. Emyr, that was absolutely brilliant just now–one sentence, and he was done for! If it weren’t for your wisdom and might, I would’ve been in serious trouble.”
Emyr let out a cold chuckle. “If I weren’t here, Willard might have left this place on a stretcher.”
Charmaine blinked in surprise.
Am I that vicious?
Before she could argue, her phone rang.
A number she didn’t recognize.
After she answered, a hesitant male voice came from the other end. “Is this Charmaine?”
She raised an eyebrow. “That’s me. You’re one of Milo’s friends?”
The man on the other end–Jared–sounded surprised. “You know who I am?”
Charmaine replied matter–of–factly, “I saw you with Milo at the apartment parking lot before. I recognized your voice.”
Jared was stunned. “You remember that? Just from my voice? D*mn, that’s impressive!”
Then his tone turned urgent. “The Nelsons went to find you, didn’t they?”
Charmaine arched a brow. “How do you know?”
She didn’t deny it–that was enough of an answer.
Jared let out a guilty sigh. “D*mn it … I’m so sorry. This morning, Leah called me, asking where Milo was. I was still half–drunk from last night and accidentally blurted out that he suspected something was off about that nurse mix–up all those years ago. He left town last night to look for someone …
