In the end, her face was covered in tears. Merrick helped her up and they went to another spot as he helped her to recover her mood.
On the other hand, Emyr stayed in front of the tomb for a long time. Unlike the chatty Sylvia, Emyr remained silent. He simply watched the tomb while being deep in thought.
An hour later, they made their way down the mountain, retracing their earlier steps.
Before leaving, Charmaine stood in front of the tomb.
Her eyes were full of conviction as she muttered, “Don’t you worry, Mr. and Mrs. Cross. I will do my best to help Emyr recover his legs.”
After saying that, she bowed to give her respects before leaving.
Perhaps, the weather was on their side. The weather was fine while they were on the mountain.
However, as they descended, dark clouds began to gather overhead. They quickened their pace, but they could not escape getting drenched in the rain before they got into their cars.
The moment Charmaine got into the car, she sneezed.
Emyr glanced at her with a frown. He asked, “Did you catch a cold already?”
Charmaine sniffed hard and dismissed the idea. “What are you saying? I’m fine. I … Achoo!”
She sneezed again before she could finish her sentence.
Emyr looked gloomy when he saw that. He ordered Tad to raise the temperature in the car and set up the partition in the back seat.
When he saw that Charmaine’s clothes were soaked, he told her, “Take off your clothes now.”

Charmaine almost bit her tongue. She instinctively put her arms around her chest and asked, “What did you say?”
Emyr looked disgusted as he scoffed, “Do you think I’m interested in your body? We will need an hour to get back. If you think it’s a good idea to be in wet clothes, you are welcome to keep them on.”
It seems like I’m overthinking this.

Emyr tossed his jacket at her. He left this jacket in the car, so it was warm and dry now,
Charmaine was indeed uncomfortable wearing wet clothes. She no longer hesitated as she turned around quickly and changed into the jacket, wrapping herself in Emyr’s jacket,
Then, she reached into the loose jacket and took off her lingerie.
He was right. She felt much warmer and dry.
Charmaine turned around and saw that Emyr was still wearing wet clothes. She showed a grateful smile and cooed, “Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Emyr! You’re truly a gentleman.”
“Hmph, the way you looked at me just now doesn’t match your words right now.”
Charmaine chuckled. “That was just a misunderstanding!”
She never expected Satan to be so generous!
Emyr snorted. Now that she was wearing his jacket, he got a clear view of her exposed collarbone. Her pale skin was bare, igniting something deep in his heart.
He looked away casually and said in a stiff tone, “My parents are not a big fan of crowds, so I didn’t allow many people to come up the mountain. Tad and you have helped carry a lot of stuff. Of course, I won’t make this a bad experience for you.”
Charmaine finally understood.

She stopped dwelling on the fact that Emyr had only given her his jacket while giving Tad nothing.
“It’s okay, Mr. Emyr, if you want to treat me well, you can give me a raise or something. I’ll be more than satisfied!”
When Milo sent so many clothes to them last time, not only Emyr bought all of them, but he even made Charmaine pay for them!

After returning to the villa, Sylvia and Merrick prepared a simple lunch for them before departing to a nearby church.
Charmaine was exhausted. She retired to her room to get some rest.
After taking a hot shower, just as she was about to lie down, she felt a jabbing pain in her abdomen.
