Without uttering a single word, he had managed to secure a hefty commission worth tens of thousands!
Bennett also felt a surge of satisfaction.
It was as if fate had finally smiled upon him, despite all his misfortunes, fortune had unexpectedly landed in his lap.
“Alright, Mr. Lowland, the paperwork is ready. If everything looks good to you, just sign here.”
“Sure.”
Jack nodded and reached for his pen to sign.
Just before he could put pen to paper, his phone rang.
“Excuse me, I need to take this call.”
Bennett chuckled. “No worries, Mr. Lowland, go ahead and handle your business.”
Jack stepped aside, speaking in a foreign language on the call.
Bennett, who wasn’t highly educated, couldn’t make out a single word. He turned to the agent and asked, “Do you know what is he talking about?”
The agent glanced at the contract. “Looks like it’s his wife on the other end.”
Lowering his voice, he added, “Mr. Lowland is involved in international trade, mainly baby products. But honestly, it’s his wife who runs everything behind the scenes. Most of his fortune comes from her efforts.
“Got it.”
Bennett scrutinized Jack up and down.
MAN
They seemed to be about the same age. Short and round, Jack wasn’t exactly easy on the eyes, definitely not as good–looking as him.
He touched his own face, wondering why fate hadn’t granted him a wife who could elevate his life.
Thinking about Sophie, who only dragged him down, he couldn’t help but feel irritated.
Just then, Jack returned from his call.
Just moments ago, he had been all smiles, but now his expression hardened, his eyes burning with fury.
“You scammer!”
He launched into a tirade against Bennett. “This house as terrible geomancy! No wonder your business is failing, yet you still have the audacity to trick me. You’re a shameless crook with no conscience!”
Not stopping there, he turned his wrath toward the real estate agent as well. “You two are working together

“My wife figured everything out! Luckily, she read a fortune teller’s guide on selecting a house and had the fortune of this place analyzed. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. Whoever moves in is unlucky!”
With that, he wasted no time making his exit, terrified that lingering even a second longer would bring misfortune upon him.
“Disaster? D*mn it! You freeloader who depends on a woman, get back here! Who’s the real unlucky one?!”
Bennett shouted in anger, ready to chase after him for a confrontation, but the agent quickly stepped in to stop him.
“Mr. Read, let’s handle this rationally.”
“Rational, my foot!” Bennett yelled.
The real estate agent sighed in frustration. “Look, I get that you’re in a tough spot, but you can’t manipulate buyers with false claims just to make a sale”
Bennett shot a sharp glare. “Why didn’t you speak up when I brought it up earlier? You’re no better, trying to scam me out of my money!”
The real estate agent’s face darkened instantly. He had to make a living too, and he had his pride!
“Mr. Read, I’m not handling this sale anymore. Go find someone else to deal with it!”
Without another word, he shoved the contract back at him and walked

He ranted for a long while, his voice rising in anger. Frustrated, Bennett his secretary to contact a different real estate agency.
Not long after, his secretary called back in a hurry.
As soon as he heard the news, Bennett exploded. “What? No one wants to take one at Pet & dieser

The secretary hesitated. “That’s right, Mr. Read. I reached out to every agency, but they’ve all blacklisted both you and your house.”
Bennett felt his head spin, nearly stumbling. “What do you mean?”
“It looks like your house has a bad geomancy. The news has spread online, and now the entire second- hand housing market is aware of it.”
Before Bennett could explode in anger, his secretary quickly sent him a video.
The clip was uploaded by a blogger on a short video patform, explaining key points for purchasing second–hand houses and highlighting superstitions related to their geomantic issues.
Bennett tanned on the video and saw a young girl seemingly still a student with blonde hair and dressed
