Chapter 12 Saved the Nelson Family From a Huge Embarrassment
A hush fell over the room.
Charmaine, known for her lack of education, had just used a term so sophisticated that the entire Nelson family was taken aback/
Milo was the first to break the silence, his laughter filled the room. “Charmaine? An expert? That’s rich! You can barely pass a class, let alone identify an antique.”
Even the house staff covered their mouths, struggling to stifle their laughter.
Everyone knew about Charmaine’s past; it was an absolate joke!
Charmaine shrugged. “If you don’t believe me, get a professional to examine it,”
“Professional? Ha! Leah bought this from a renowned collector! The original owner didn’t even want to sell it at first, but Leah’s persistence paid off. Do you really think an expert would mistake a fake for the real deal?”
Charmaine chuckled, her words carrying a pointed edge.
Why not? Haven’t you all been treating fakes like treasures this whole time?”
Milo choked on his words, and everyone’s expressions turned sour.
Leah’s face, in particular, was hard to read.
At that moment, a house staff entered, announcing the arrival of Tara.
It was Tara Bell, Jonah’s fiancée.
Valda’s face lit up with joy. “Quickly, bring her in!”
Then, she shot Charmaine a meaningful look. “Tara comes from a family of collectors, steeped in the world of art from a young age. If you don’t believe us, let Tara give her verdict!”
Leah’s heart leaped with excitement. Charmaine boldly dismissed the 300–million–dollar antique as a counterfeit.
However, she was confident she could prove her wrong and reveal the truth.
Tara entered, dressed in a chic Chanel suit, her every movement exuding the grace of a true socialite.
As she stepped into the room and saw the assembled family, she greeted everyone with a warm smile.
Handing over the gift she brought to house staff, she said, “I just attended a restoration event for antiquities and missed Leah’s birthday party. This is a little something for Leah’s birthday.”
Leah smiled sweetly, “Thank you, my sister–in–law.”
Tara beamed.
Jonah was not only strikingly handsome but exceptionally capable, and Tara had admired him for a long

calling her “sister–in–law” affectionately, which Tara appreciated deeply. She was especially fond of Leah, always looking out for her.
“Tara, take a look at this bowl!”
Before they could exchange more pleasantries, Milo eagerly interrupted, already holding out the lacquer
box.
“Hmm? What’s wrong with the bowl?”
Tara glanced at the contents and immediately shook her head with regret.
Seeing her reaction, Milo turned to look at Charmaine his face lighting up. After holding back all evening, he finally had a chance to vent his frustration. Excitement and anticipation danced in his eyes.
“Tara, isn’t this bowl incredibly valuable?”
“It’s quite well–made, but unfortunately, it’s shattered beyond repair. It can’t be used anymore,” Tara said with a sigh.
What?
Milo’s face twitched. “Tara,,it’s not meant to be used! It’s an antique that worth 300 million dollars.”
Their family certainly wasn’t rich enough to be eating out of a 300–million–dollar bowl…
Realizing the confusion, Tara paused. Though she wasn’t aware of what had happened before she arrived, she chose her words carefully.
“This bowl is a beautifully crafted piece of art.”
A piece of art, not an antique.
Her words were tactful, but no one in the room was foolish. Everyone understood the implication.
Leah’s face slowly drained of color. “That’s not possible. Tara, look again. This bowl is from the Empire of Eldoria…”
Before Leah could finish, Tara gently explained, “Yes, it’s a reproduction of King Aureon’s Skydance bowl. I’ve seen the real one before. It belongs to Dr. Beatrice, a renowned collector. She bought it at auction over- ten years ago and has kept it in her private collection ever since.”
Desperate for any chance to refute, Leah pressed on, “But could it be a different one?”
Tara shook her head. “There’s only one pair in the world. One is in Dr. Beatrice’s collection, and the other is housed in the David Foundation in Aswia.”
At this, Leah’s face turned as pale as a wilted eggplant.
Valda felt her heart sink. “Leah, what was the name of the person who sold you this bowl?”
Leah didn’t answer, her face flushed with embarrassment, humiliated beyond words,
Seeing her reaction, the rest of the Nelsons understood the situation.

Tara, still puzzled, looked around at the tense faces. She turned to Jonah and asked, “Did something happen?”
Jonah’s lips tightened. “Leah bought this bowl to gift to the wonder doctor as a token for our business partnership, but it was accidentally broken just now.”
Tara’s face lit up in understanding, and she kindly tried to comfort Leah. “It’s just 300 million dollars. Think of it as a lesson learned. Don’t feel too bad. In fact, this might be a blessing in disguise. It’s a good thing it broke before we had the chance to gift it. Imagine if we had actually sent a fake to the wonder doctor–that would have been a disaster. Really, we should all be relieved. Whoever broke this bowl may have saved the Nelsons from a huge embarrassment.”
