Back to My Worst Birthday and Starting Anew
Chapter 10 Skydance Bowl
Once again, without distinguishing between right and wrong, they pinned the blame on her.
As long as Leah felt the slightest grievance or suffered any injury, it was always Charmaine’s fault.
By now, Charmaine had perfected the art of remaining unfazed.
Leah softly explained, “It has nothing to do with Chara just lost my balance.”

Olympia didn’t believe her. She assumed Leah was once again making excuses to cover for Charmaine. “You’re always so careful and meticulous. How could you possibly fall down the stairs? Don’t try to speak up for her anymore.”
A moment later, Valda Guerrero, Charmaine’s grandmother, was escorted out by the servants. She cast a brief glance at Leah before her attention was drawn to the lacquer box lying broken in the corner.
Her aged face turned pale with shock. “The Skydance Bowl!”
At the sound of her exclamation, everyone else suddenly realized what had happened.
Milo rushed over and picked up the box.
He opened it, and the shattered fragments flew out.
At this, the faces of everyone in the room changed.
Milo, still clutching the box, angrily stormed up to Charmaine. “Charmaine, do you even realize how much trouble you’ve caused?”
Charmaine eyed the shattered pieces, her face a mask. Leah trips, my fault. She breaks something, still my fault. With your talent for dodging blame, you should be a politician.”
The house staff, fearing they’d be blamed, quickly spoke up,
“Earlier, when we were upstairs, Ms. Leah was apologizing to Ms. Chara, begging for her forgiveness, even offering to give her the birthday gift she’d received.”
“Exactly, we all heard it. Ms. Leah was pulling on Ms. Chara, not wanting her to leave, and it was when Ms. Chara stepped to the side that Ms. Leah lost her balance and fell.
“If Ms. Chara had reached out to steady her, Ms. Leah wouldn’t have fallen, and the Skydance Bowl wouldn’t have broken … ”
The Nelsons‘ expressions darkened considerably at their words.
Milo was furious as he shouted, “We have witnesses, we have evidence! What more do you need to admit what you did finally? You knew how much that bowl meant to Leah, all the time and effort she put into getting it. And you still deliberately set her up to break it! Of all the days to cause trouble, you chose Leah’s birthday…
“Charmaine, I thought you were just mean, but this? This is rotten.”
“Just a broken bowl. Only an idiot would care about something like that.” Charmaine lifted her head, her

falls, why should I catch her? Am I crazy?”
Leah, just compared to a fly, was stunned.
Everyone else, labeled idiots, stared back in disbelief.

“You uncouth simpleton! This is no mere bowl, but the Skydance Bowl, crafted for the royal court of Eldoria by King Aureon himself! Its value is legendary, easily surpassing 300 million dollars–an artifact far beyond the reach of someone like you!”
At Valda’s words, Olympia’s usually poised and elegant expression began to crack.
She looked at Charmaine, her eyes filled with deep disappointment.
“Leah went through so much trouble, and spent nearly a month pleading with the previous owner, just to acquire this rare treasure for Zayn. It was meant to help him secure the partnership with wonder doctor… I thought you were just reckless, but now I see you’re rotten to the core. There’s no saving you.”
“Mom, why are you even bothering with her? Does someone like her even know who wonder doctor is?”
Milo snapped angrily. “She’s not only cruel and stupid, but she deliberately made Leah fall and now wants to sabotage Zayn’s business deal!
“You said you wanted to cut ties with the Nelsons, so why are you still here causing trouble?”
“What’s all this noise about now?”
Willard, Jonah, and Alec entered the house to a scene of chaos.
Far from bringing the promised peace, Charmaine’s arrival had only plunged their home into turmoil.
Charmaine’s dad, Willard Nelson was confused. That famous fortune teller had assured them that as long as they waited until Charmaine was an adult to bring her back, she wouldn’t disrupt their family or affect the Nelsons‘ century–old legacy.
Yet, here they were.
Willard’s eyes were clouded with uncertainty, his emotions unreadable.
Milo wasted no time in complaining. “Dad, Jonah, Alec, Charmaine made Leah fall down the stairs, and she broke the Skydance bowl!”
Olympia quickly filled in the details.
The three men’s faces turned grim.
Though they didn’t say a word, the look they gave Charmaine had already convicted her.
Just like every other time.
Since her return, no one in the Nelson family had shown her an ounce of care or trust.
Not a single person.
A wave of self–mockery swent over her. All the struggles all the effort from her nast life—what had any of
