Cherise’s approach had the two young receptionists‘ hearts pounding. But then, she turned to Brenda and said, “Thank you for the candy. It was delicious. Could you tell me where you bought it? I’d like to get some more.”
Brenda was caught off guard, thinking to herself, ‘She’s not here to complain. She’s just asking about the candy. My idol is indeed different from the usual drama queens.
She scratched her head with embarrassment and replied, “Cherise. Ah, no, Ms. Leach. Never mind. I’ll just call you Cherise. I got the candy from a little shop near the company. I have another bag in my drawer: I’ll give it to you.”
With that, she dashed back to the reception desk, grabbed a large bag of candy, and hurried back. Grinning at Cherise, she said, “Here you go, Cherise. When you finish these, I’ll buy you more.”
