Chapter 617
As soon as Lydia finished her sentence, someone violently knocked over a priceless vase. It shattered on the ground, scattering sharp shards of porcelain.
The loud sound startled many of the servants present, and screams rang out. Stella and Lydia were also startled.

Stella’s fright was visible to the naked eye, while Lydia, though seemingly frightened, would glance in the direction of Jagger and Cora from time to time.
It was Jagger who had knocked over the glass. He looked disgusted, abhorrent, and furious.
Cora, beside him, also had a look of displeasure and contempt on her face.
She couldn’t help but say, “Very well, this is how you deceived me, deceived our Walton family. Lydia, you’ve known all these years, why hide it?”
“It was Dad… It was Dad… And, and I was afraid you would dislike me if I told you…” Lydia wanted to retort.
Before she could finish, Cora spoke again, “You should know what kind of family the Waltons are. What do should do now?

“Do you know what a disgrace the word ‘dancer‘ is to our family? I thought, I thought you were really the daughter of intellectuals. I didn’t expect. I really didn’t expect.
“We Waltons are so naive and gullible. No wonder, no wonder your words and deeds sometimes seem so strange.
“If you were normal, you wouldn’t have thrown sulfuric acid at Jean when so many people were at the Waltons‘ for Jemma’s tea party.
“So, that’s it. That’s how it is. It’s your mother’s cheap genes that are to blame.”
These words were spoken by Cora, and each one stabbed into Lydia’s heart like a needle.
“Grandma, why do you say that everything is my fault? Do you think I want this? Who doesn’t want a normal and happy life and family?” Lydia said coldly.
She continued, “Besides, what’s wrong with being a dancer? It’s just a profession to make a living. If someone had a good family background, who would choose to do such a job?
“And if you have to blame someone, you should blame your son, my biological father. He couldn’t control himself, and it’s all his fault that I have been struggling to survive.
“You think I wanted to throw acid on Jean? That was just a play your son arranged to seize power.”
Hearing this, Jagger shouted, “Enough!”
Along with the roar, an ashtray came from nowhere and hit Lydia on the right side of her forehead. As the ashtray landed, blood flowed from where she was hit.
If Lydia hadn’t moved a little to the side a second before the ashtray arrived, it would have hit her right in the head.
In the past, the first person to exclaim would have been Stella, but not this time.
When Lydia looked at her, her eyes flickered, constantly dodging her gaze, unwilling to meet her eyes.
Cora stood in front, looking at the wound on Lydia’s forehead without a shred of sympathy, her face still stern. “Lydia, if you still want to stay in the Walton family, you must listen to me.

Chapter 617
“Go and contact your father immediately to find a broadcast journalist from the compound. Film a statement telling everyone that you were only adopted by our family and are not Tristan’s biological daughter at all.
“Everything that happened in the elite circle today was orchestrated by Arthur. If you need proof, I’ll contact the technicians to produce it immediately.
“As long as you’re obedient and get this done, you can still enjoy a life of luxury in the Walton family.”
Upon hearing this, Lydia laughed, a wild, unrestrained laugh. “Adopted? So that’s it? All these years of affection mean nothing. It’s all so cheap, so incredibly cheap.
“I should have seen this coming. This is what they mean by blood ties, blood thicker than water.
“I won’t do it. It’s the truth, just that now the truth has been exposed, and everyone knows.”
Seeing Lydia like this and hearing her words, the Waltons were even more furious.
“Fine, since you won’t listen, don’t blame us for being ruthless. Someone, lock her up! Lock her in her room until Tristan
returns.”
At the command of Cora and Jagger, the Walton family’s guards surged forward.
Having hesitated before due to Lydia’s status, they now saw how her grandparents treated her and became bolder, wanting to seize her.
However, Lydia swept her ice–cold and fearless gaze over them. “Anyone who dares to take a step closer, try me. I will go to the room myself; you are not worthy of touching me.”
After saying that, she straightened her back and, with newfound calmness, walked step by step up the stairs.
As soon as she entered the room and closed the door, she heard the clinking of metal outside. It was obvious that they were putting chains on the door to prevent her from escaping.
Lydia didn’t care. She had already anticipated the reactions of those so–called relatives after she revealed the truth. However, their reaction was even more intense than she had expected.
The next thing she had to face was the return of her biological father, Tristan.
Coincidentally, the sky outside changed abruptly, with dark clouds gathering.
The wind swept up the fallen leaves and spun them around frantically, as if some terrifying, mysterious force had gathered them together. It was a strange and frightening sight.
