Cherise thought, ‘As for the rest, as long as they don’t harm my people, I can ignore them. However, things are different
now.
“The Walton family’s ambition is no longer simply a matter of being unfit for their position.‘
After leaving Betrico University, Cherise did not go directly back to Chivers Residence or to visit Claire in Prosperous City. Instead, she went to the small island in the middle of the lake to visit Carson.
When she arrived, Carson was grooming Kitten, whose fur was a bit messy. He smiled his usual smile when he saw Cherise. “Cherise, you’re here.” He said softly. “Kitten’s fur has grown quite a bit. It’s time to trim it so it doesn’t look so messy.” Cherise nodded and sat down on a small wooden stool next to him. She reached out to help groom Kitten’s increasingly large body, just like he was doing.
The faint smile on Carson’s face didn’t disappear, but he clearly caught a glimpse of the unusual look on Cherise’s face out of the corner of his eye.
He placed the hairdressing scissors on the coffee table beside him and asked, “Cherise, who did you meet and what happened this morning?”
Cherise met Carson’s blue eyes when she heard this. “Well, school is about to start, so I went back to Betrico University for a meeting and saw Trent. I heard him talk about some unpleasant things he encountered recently.
“Not just him, but many people I care about are also suffering ‘disasters‘ that they shouldn’t be suffering at the same time.”
As soon as Cherise’s words came out, Carson looked as if it was not unexpected. “The recent celestial phenomena have been unusual, and it has not been very peaceful.”
“So what you told me some time ago, about helping Mr. Jarrett, was in preparation for this time, right?”
Carson didn’t deny it. “You are pregnant now, so it’s different. Just do what you can.”
“Carson, I understand.”
Several hours later, every dignitary in Betrico received another “special” text message.
“Well, that’s strange. Why is texting becoming popular again? Let me see what this is all about.”
Many people’s first reaction after seeing it was, “Oh my god, this is…”
“Oh my, this is even more serious than the last time when the news about Arthur’s son’s biological mother broke out.”
“Look at this, there’s evidence and witnesses, and even photos below. This must be true. Who would dare to mess with their family? It can’t be fake.
“I’m waiting for clarification. Why have there been so many scandals about these two recently? Is it a warm–up for next
month?”
“I’m so looking forward to it.”
Those who were not involved watch the drama unfold, while those who were involved suffered.

At the Jarrett residence, Mary was reading something on her phone with her reading glasses on. “Oh my, it’s finally the Walton family’s turn! This is karma! Which angel is helping out? There should be more scandals about their family exposed!”
“What? What is it?” Jean and Lucas, who were also sitting in the living room, stretched their necks, trying to peek at Mary’s phone.
Mary handed her phone over.
She said, “Here, look, it says that Lydia’s biological mother worked in a disreputable place abroad. She was a shady lady. Later, she met Tristan, and then she got pregnant with Lydia.
“Tristan was afraid that the woman’s identity would affect his official career, so he hid her identity information from the public and said that Lydia’s mother was a top student who graduated from a prestigious university and had passed away.
“He hid it so well. All these years, I really thought it was true. After all, you see how picky the two elders of the Walton family are about other people’s identities and family backgrounds.
“Look, there are photos of Tristan and this woman together. The background really looks like they’re at a club.”
Jean leaned in. “Well, this is… To be honest, Lydia is quite pitiful.
“Based on my years of watching TV shows, I think Lydia’s biological mother might have been killed by Tristan to prevent future trouble.”
Lucas chuckled twice. “I wonder who spilled the beans. It shouldn’t be Arthur. I know his personality.
“Actually, it doesn’t matter what the woman’s job is. There’s no distinction between high and low. What’s hateful is that Tristan hid the truth.
“But I’m still selfishly thinking this is a good thing. Now it’s the Walton family’s turn to be in the spotlight.”
Bad news travels fast. In less than a stick of incense’s time, the news that Tristan had fathered Lydia with a courtesan had spread throughout the aristocratic circle.
The Walton family residence was in an uproar. The Walton elders were furious when they saw rumors that had been by someone. “How preposterous! How could this be? Where’s Tristan? Where is he?
spread
“Get him back here right away! This has become a huge scandal in our circle! Did Arthur’s family set us up? How could Lydia’s mother be a courtesan?
“Impossible! Tristan would never be so indiscreet. Stella, hurry up and call your brother. Ask him what happened.
“If he doesn’t answer, call his assistant. Find out what’s going on. If it’s not true, tell him to take care of it,”
Stella was stunned when she saw the message. She didn’t know what to do. Lydia wasn’t home, so she had to ask Tristan. She nodded quickly. “Okay, okay, Dad, Mom. I’ll call Tristan right now.”
“No need to call. I’m back. Let me explain.” Just as Stella was about to dial the number, a familiar voice came. They all looked over. Stella was the first to speak, “Lydia, why are you back? How can you be back? Are you okay? “Did Arthur let you go? Who was it? Have you seen Arthur? Are you all right? What happened to your hands?”
The Waltons were shocked to see Lydia. “Lydia, did your father ask someone to let you go? I knew Arthur wouldn’t disrespect the Waltons.”

Lydia looked at them and shook her head. “No, it wasn’t my father. Arthur’s men asked me a few questions and let me go.”
Jagger found it strange. “What kind of questions could they ask that would make them let you go?”
Lydia seemed to choke up. “They asked me about my biological mother. When I refused to answer, they beat me. Look at the marks on me. They did this.
“Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore, so I told them everything my father had told me about her.”
Hearing this, and recalling the rumors she had heard earlier, Cora asked angrily, “So who is your biological mother?”
Lydia became very nervous, trembling as if frightened, and hid behind Stella. “My mother… My mother… My mother was a dancer, to be precise.
“It couldn’t be helped. It was all because of life’s pressures. I’ve always known, but Dad wouldn’t let me tell anyone.
“He said… He said that you, Grandpa and Grandma, wouldn’t like it. You’re my dearest family. You wouldn’t dislike me, would you?”
