The nurse took a moment to calm herself before slowly, with trembling hands, removing the watch from her wrist. She pressed something on it–what exactly, no one knew. A soft “beep” sounded, and the next moment, she collapsed onto the
floor.
At the same time, in the assistant’s office at Tristan’s corporate headquarters, a phone on the desk vibrated. The assistant immediately picked it up, checked the screen, and then stood up, heading straight to Tristan’s office.
Just then, Tristan had just finished a call with Stella. Seeing the assistant enter, he asked, “There’s news, isn’t there?”
The assistant nodded and handed the phone to Tristan. “This is a photo from the hospital. Rest assured, sir, the person has already been taken care of.
The quality of the photo isn’t the best, but it’s clear enough. It captures a full–frontal shot of that patient–Morris and his people seemed to care about her a lot.”
Tristan nodded and tapped the screen to wake the phone. The moment he saw the image, his pupils widened noticeably. A hint of urgency crept into his voice. “Are you sure it’s her?”
Seeing an expression on Tristan’s face that he had never witnessed before, the assistant hesitated for a moment before replying, “I’m sure. There’s also a short video below. The man next to her is Leo–one of Morris’s people.
“So, there’s no doubt about it. Sir, is something wrong?”
Tristan’s voice dropped, turning heavier. “The hospital wasn’t able to retrieve this patient’s name, correct?”
The assistant nodded again. “Correct. The information has been sealed off. They’re still investigating.”
Tristan waved a hand. “Tell your people to stop looking.”
“This is…?” The assistant asked, confused.
Tristan reached up to massage his temples. “Her name is Claire Garcia. I never expected that after all these years, she’d still be so beautiful. Hah.
I remember she was supposed to have died in Astamia back then. How is this possible?”
Having followed Tristan for years, the assistant could easily tell what kind of mood he was in. In all this time, he had never seen him like this before.
Seeing that Tristan remained silent, still rubbing his temples, the assistant hesitated briefly before speaking. “So, sir, what’s our next move?”
Tristan exhaled slowly. “Let’s wait. We’ll talk about it in a couple of days.”

Leo and Crow safely escorted Claire back to the villa in the southern part of the city.
“Ms. Garcia, Mr. and Mrs. Chivers said that during this period, Crow and I can’t leave your side. So, we just casually bought a small villa next door.
From now on, we’re neighbors! If anything happens at home, you must call us immediately. We’re at your service 24/7, Leo said, sounding quite pleased.
Crow was just as delighted. The villa was registered in his name, and Cherise had mentioned that he could keep it as a gift. That thought alone made him feel utterly content–his face practically beaming with joy.

She put in so much effort, and we could tell she was really enjoying herself while cooking. So, at the dinner table, we forced ourselves to swallow it, afraid she’d feel bad if we didn’t.
