Lydia chuckled upon hearing this, “Aunt Stella, so what did my dad tell you?”
Stella, caught off guard by the question, didn’t hide anything from her and replied honestly, “Your dad said you had an accident and got hurt. Oh dear, does it hurt? Did you get injured anywhere? With you wearing long sleeves, I can’t tell.”
Stella examined Lydia from head to toe, chattering away incessantly. She had raised Lydia since she was little and still felt a deep affection for her.
Hearing Stella’s words, Lydia let out a few mocking laughs. “I did get hurt from a fall. Well, he said it’s fine even if it’s not completely healed.”
“What’s wrong with you? Why are you acting so strangely? Did you hit your head too hard and become a bit silly?” Stella asked, concerned.
Lydia didn’t respond to her. Instead, she walked straight out of the hospital room. Seeing this, Stella felt even more puzzled but didn’t press further. Seeing that Lydia was leaving, she followed her out.
Edmund and Crow stood at the entrance of Betrico Hospital, watching from a distance and chatting animatedly, occasionally bursting into laughter.
From their conversation, it was clear they were waiting for someone’s arrival.
Behind them stood several doctors and nurses, along with a brand–new, high–end operating table and a state–of–the–art ventilator similar to the one in Lucy’s hospital.
Cherise would soon bring her mother, Claire, here.
Originally, they had planned to take her to the GlobalVision Group’s basement facility on the second floor, but compared to a proper hospital, it still fell short, especially in terms of medical equipment.
After careful consideration and discussion with Edmund last night, they decided to bring her here instead.
At this moment, Crow kept glancing outside, checking the time on his watch, and said to Edmund, “I’m really troubling you, Edmund, to come out here and wait with me. Judging by the time, I think our guest should be arriving soon.”

Soon, Morris’s business van slowly approached the entrance of Betrico Hospital. The spacious vehicle was filled with people.
Lex, who was sitting in the passenger seat and returning to Clus with them, was the most excited. “I really can’t believe I’m finally back in Clusia, I love this land so much. Oh yeah!”

Cherise, sitting in the back, also seemed more relaxed than she had been in Astamia. After all, she was on her own turf, where she felt more at ease and less constrained.
Before long, the van pulled up to the entrance of Betrico Hospital. As soon as the doors opened, Cherise was the first to step out. Crow and Edmund greeted her warmly.
Edmund spoke first, “Oh, Ms. Leach, you all must have had a tough journey. We’re all ready here. Where’s the patient?”
Upon hearing this, Leo, Hank, and Lex carefully lifted the stretcher from the van and gently placed it on the operating table that had been prepared at Betrico Hospital.
Edmund and the other doctors and nurses noticed that even in her unconscious state, Claire was an incredibly beautiful
woman.
Morris, who got out of the van last, saw that everything was in place and said, “We’ll leave it to you, Edmund.”
Edmund replied, “Hey, I just told Crow this is an honor for our hospital. Let’s take her to the special ward first. We still have a few details to discuss with Ms. Leach.”
Cherise and Morris nodded, giving a glance to Leo and Lex, signaling them to follow and keep a close eye. Meanwhile, they, along with Hank and Edmund, headed to Edmund’s office.
However, in a rather unfortunate coincidence, as the elevator doors opened, Stella and Lydia were just about to step out. The two groups
collided.
Stella, seeing them, was extremely enthusiastic. “Oh my, what a coincidence. Morris, Cherise, Hank, and Edmund–what brings you all together? Is someone feeling unwell and here for a check–up?”
Compared to Stella’s warmth, Lydia, standing beside her, seemed rather cold and distant, silent and still.
Neither Cherise nor Morris felt inclined to respond, but Edmund stepped in. “Ms. Walton, you’re being discharged, right? We’ve invited Ms. Leach here just to consult her on a few matters!”
“Oh, I see. That makes sense. Ms. Leach is a professor at Betrico University, after all. It’s only natural. Well then, we won’t disturb you any further. Lydia, let’s head back, Stella said, leading Lydia out of the elevator.
Lydia remained silent, but as she passed by Cherise and Hank, she glanced at them. Her eyes no longer held the arrogance and malice from the last time at the Walton family’s forest villa. Instead, there was just a hint of indifference.
