With only two days left until Cherise and Morris’s wedding, it felt like the entire Betrico, if not all of Clusia, was eagerly anticipating the event.
Some were excited about the grandeur of the wedding, others were curious about the distinguished guests who would attend, and many were wondering how the couple would dazzle everyone. After all, both Cherise and Morris held remarkable backgrounds and statuses in Betrico.
Numerous media outlets wanted to secure the broadcasting rights, but Morris and Cherise didn’t give them a chance. Apart from Morris and Truman’s Artiverse Entertainment, all others were strictly prohibited from entering.
These days, the busiest person had to be Mrs. Chivers. From the smallest detail like a piece of wedding candy or a wedding cake, to the dowry for Cherise’s family, everything was personally supervised by her.
Even though the wedding was still two days away, she had already put on a bright red suit.
Now, she was shouting loudly, “Come on, come on, be careful with this vase, these windows, and these wedding candies and cakes that will be taken to the in–laws‘ place. Put a ‘happiness‘ character on all of them.
“And everyone, remember, the new clothes I gave you yesterday, the red ones, you must all wear them on the day of my grandson and his wife’s wedding. We want to be festive!
“I’m happy. Enya, give everyone another red envelope. It will give them more energy to work.”
Enya smiled and shook her head upon hearing this. This was already the tenth time Phoebe had given out red envelopes in the past five days. Lately, she had been in such a good mood, laughing heartily and giving red envelopes to the staff at the slightest happiness.
She had declined all invitations to social gatherings, choosing to focus entirely on preparing for Morris and Cherise’s wedding.
With the red envelopes from Phoebe, the staff were highly motivated and did everything perfectly.
“Enya, did you hear me? Give out the red envelopes!” Phoebe shouted again, fearing that Enya hadn’t heard her.
Enya nodded cheerfully. “I heard you, Mrs. Chivers!”
Then, as if realizing something, Phoebe slapped her thigh and said, “Oh, right, there are still two days left. I should call Morris,” With that, she took out her phone and dialed Morris’s number.
Morris was also busy and took a while to answer the call, “Hello?”

“Of course, I can’t see my wife.”
Phoebe replied, “That’s good. This must be a request from Cherise’s Uncle Dennis and Aunt Bella, right? I’m relieved. You know, it’s an old tradition that the bride and groom shouldn’t see each other three days before the wedding.

Morris seemed quite helpless. Coupled with the fact that Cherise hadn’t been by his side the night before, he had spent a sleepless night. After pinching the bridge of his nose, he muttered, “Yeah, yeah,” then hung up the phone.

As soon as he hung up, he couldn’t bear the longing. Without putting his phone down, he directly initiated a video call with
Cherise.
Cherise was relaxed. She was sitting in a lakeside pavilion with Carson, sipping tea and chatting, Seeing Morris video call request, she probably felt shy about answering in front of Carson, so she stood up and walked to a nearby tree.
Carson, knowing that Cherise was shy, smiled warmly at her and continued to sip his tea.
As soon as Cherise answered, she saw Morris with dark circles under his eyes. She spoke in a soft, gentle voice, “Mr. Chivers, what’s wrong? You’ve only been away for a day, and you already have dark circles?”
Morris let out a bitter chuckle, “Cherise, I can’t sleep without you.”
Hearing this, Cherise couldn’t help but laugh out loud, “It’s just been one day. There are still two more days left. If I keep this up, I’ll see a groom with two big dark circles under his eyes on the wedding day!”
Morris smiled affectionately, “You heartless girl. You seem to be having a great time, laughing and not missing me a d you haven’t even tried to contact me!”
Cherise comforted him, “I do miss you. But it’s important to stay in a good mood. I want to look beautiful as a bride. Mr. Chivers, you should do the same. I need a handsome groom. After all, the wedding only happens once, right?
After hearing this, Morris let out a soft chuckle again. “You’re right, Cherise. To make sure you have a handsome groom, I think I should go home and get some sleep right away.”
Cherise nodded and, looking at the calm lake surface, coaxed Morris in the same gentle tone she used with her daughter, “There you go, Mr. Chivers! I’m on the little island in the lake, waiting for you to take me home.”
Morris took a deep breath and slightly curled his lips upward. “Alright, Cherise, I’ll take you home!” After saying this, he looked at the wedding photo on his desk, his smile growing even wider.
