In Tristan’s office, his assistant came in to inform him that Arthur was unavailable today and that the meeting was set for
tomorrow at noon.
“Looking at his schedule today, there weren’t any other important matters, were there?” Tristan asked impatiently.
The assistant lowered his head. “Well, I’m not sure about that.”
Tristan nodded. “Alright. What about the hacker from last time? I heard there’s been some progress?”
The assistant replied honestly, “Yes, our people have traced the location. It’s near Betrico University, at an orphanage. It seems quite odd. We’ve checked the place. Apart from the director, all the others are children ranging in age from 2 to 14.”
Hearing this, Tristan felt puzzled. “An orphanage, huh? And what about the director? Have you checked her out?”
The assistant responded, “Yes, we have. She’s a middle–aged woman, in her fifties.”
“Our people specifically tracked the director’s movements on the day when Ms. Walton’s scandal started trending online. She was outdoors the whole time, with no suspicious activity at all,” the assistant reported.
Tristan Walton listened and stroked his chin. “That’s odd. The location is at the Charity Orphanage. What about the children there? Are they not suspicious?”
The assistant shook his head. “We haven’t found anything suspicious about the children yet. Considering their young age
educational and the fact that they are orphans, it seems unlikely that they could pose any threat. Without a proper background, they wouldn’t cause much trouble.”
As soon as the assistant finished speaking, Tristan’s eyes turned cold. “You’re wrong. Arthur and I both achieved fame at a young age. We both attended the Military Academy for Young Leaders before we were even thirteen.”
“Shortly after, we were selected by Mr. Dorian Finch. Unfortunately, fate intervened, and due to some unforeseen circumstances, things didn’t go as planned. Never mind that,” he said.
“In any case, immediately investigate the children at the orphanage. The even know how to read yet,” he said.

Upon receiving the order, the assistant nodded, quickly turned around and left the room without any delay.

“I have resigned myself to dedicating the rest of my life to Clusia. But I genuinely have no recollection of how this child came to be. It’s quite embarrassing,” Arthur said, wiping his forehead, which was glistening with sweat.
Hearing this, Mateo, who was driving, chuckled. “Mr. Jarrett, I’m happy for you. Look at Mr. Walton and the other colleagues your age; their children are already in their twenties.”
“Look at you, worrying about this child. He’s only 14. An old man getting a late–life son is a huge blessing. Be happy,” he continued.

“Moreover, the boy is already attending Betrico University and recently won the Global Medical Association’s Traditional vs. Modern Medicine Competition. His genes must be like yours, Mr. Jarrett. How remarkable,” he said.
“If Mr. and Mrs. Jarrett know about this, they will be even happier than me. As for how the child came to be, why not just ask him yourself when you meet?” Mateo added.
Upon hearing this, Arthur was indeed surprised and happy, but he sighed, “Well, let’s see how it goes. I don’t know if the child will like me. My position is coveted by many. If I acknowledge him, it might not be good for the child.”
“It looks good on the surface, but it’s fraught with hidden dangers. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not. I should probably visit Mr. Finch again. By the way, you said Tristan met with Mr. Finch the other day, right?” he asked,
“Yes, Mr. Jarrett,” Mateo replied.
Arthur nodded and looked out the window, holding an inscrutable expression, as if he was thinking deeply about something.
Soon, the car headed towards the Charity Orphanage. Just before reaching the gate, it slowed down and stopped by the roadside.
“Mr. Jarrett, you should be careful. You stay in the car. I’ll go check it out,” Mateo said to Arthur in the back seat after turning off the engine.
Arthur waved his hand. “No need. Just sit here and wait. Going in directly might scare someone. I just want to take a quiet look. But now that we’re here, I feel a bit nervous.”
Hearing this, Mateo chuckled, understanding what Arthur meant, “Alright, Mr. Jarrett. We’ll wait here. It should be almost time for Betrico University to let out. We’ll keep an eye from a distance. We wouldn’t want to scare the child.”
So, the two of them sat by the roadside outside the Charity Orphanage, straining to see inside. Half an hour later, Hank, riding a bicycle, returned from Betrico University.
From a distance, he saw the white car parked by the roadside. He had never seen this car before. It looked quite ordinary, but he didn’t know whose it was.
Sitting on his bicycle, he thought to himself, if one of the younger kids‘ biological parents had come to claim them and he missed it, that wouldn’t be a pity.
So, he mustered up his courage, left his bike to the side, and walked towards the car.
Mateo, sitting in the car, saw the approaching boy in the rearview mirror from a distance.
“Mr. Jarrett, Mr. Jarrett, he’s behind us. He’s coming, he’s coming, walking right towards us,” he said.
