Chapter 494
The moment Cherise laid eyes on the wedding dress, she could help but curve her lips into a small smile.
She moved closer, slowly approaching the dress.
Standing beside it, Cherise stretched out her long fingers and gently glided them from top to bottom, the fabric feeling smooth like satin beneath her touch.
“Why don’t you try it on, Cherise?” Xenia suggested.
“Yeah, Cherise, you’ll look stunning in it. Give it a try,” Jean added
Both Xenia and Jean couldn’t hold, back, eager to see how Cheris would look in the dress.
The wedding gown was a simple, strapless mermaid style that just grazed the floor. The silk–like fabric was smooth and
lustrous.
There were no extra embellishments like jewels or diamonds, only sleek, high–quality lines that flowed elegantly, exuding an air of grace and sophistication.
The fitted design at the waist accentuated the curves, and even on the mannequin, it perfectly highlighted the figure.
The mannequin was also adorned with a delicate white veil, which looked as if it was floating in the clouds, ethereal and soft. The mannequin’s hand held a final version of the wedding dress design, with several markings for measurements.
This design was one that Cherise had created while still at Saphira.
Back then, Amelia had shared with Cherise the beauty of love and the romance of marriage.
At the time, Cherise, who had no real concept of love, found herself sketching a picture of the wedding dress she dreamed of.
It was at that moment that she casually drew up the design.
Once the wedding date had been finalized, Cherise handed the design over to Xenia.
And
so, the immaculate white wedding dress before her now came to life.
Xenia and Jean had already imagined how stunning Cherise would look in this gown and eagerly called out to her to try it

Cherise simply smiled again, her voice light as she turned toward them. “The first time I wear a wedding dress, only Mr. Chivers can see me in it. You two cannot.”
Cherise’s tone carried a rare hint of pride and shyness.
Xenia and Jean couldn’t help but mutter, “Hey, such a
tightwad.
-But in a way, they both thought it made perfect sense.
Later that evening, after dinner with Xenia and Jean, Cherise returned to the Chivers Residence.
When she arrived, Morris was already in his pajamas, waiting for her in the living room.

As soon as he saw Cherise walk in, Morris rushed over and wrapped her in a tight hug.
His voice, both playful and somewhat reproachful, was a rare sound from him. “Darling, you left me here all alone for two hours, waiting for you while you went off to have a date with friends. Don’t you think I deserve a little reward?”
Cherise, held tightly in his embrace, couldn’t help but laugh at los words. She looked up at him and teased. “What kind of reward are you looking for, Darling? Huh?”
Morris pretended to think seriously, then grinned, “Well… how about a date with me this weekend?”
“Just like that?” Cherise asked incredulously.

“Yes, just like that. Is there anywhere you’ve been wanting to go? Morris asked, still holding her, looking casual as he spoke. Cherise thought for a moment. “I want to go to the beach. I haven’t been in a long time.”
She looked up at Morris. “Is that really all? Somehow, I feel like you want more than just that.”
Morris nodded, then shook his head. “Of course, I want more, but the weekend is still two days away. Right now, I just want to spend some time with you.”
With that, he swept Cherise off her feet.
Cherise wrapped her arms around his neck and playfully kicked her legs. “Hold on. I just got back, and I still need to freshen up…”
“I don’t mind. Besides, you don’t smell at all. You smell lovely, actually. I really like it,” Morris said, his tone sincere.

At a diplomat’s residence in the heart of Betrico, Stella and her niece Lydia walked out from inside the residence. This residence belonged to Lucia, the wife of the diplomat who had clashed with Cherise earlier at Taylor Vogue. Stella had comforted Lucia inside before finally stepping out through the front door.
She let out a deep sigh, clearly relieved.
“Aunt Stella, are we heading home now?” Lydia asked, standing just ahead of her.
Stella nodded, descending the stairs.
Lydia, walking behind her, seemed puzzled. “Aunt Stella, you’re the chief interpreter for Hesperia. Lucia is just the wife of a diplomat, yet your position is even higher than her husband’s.
“Why lower yourself to please her? I feel like it’s not worth it. Lucia is nothing but a terribly rude woman.”
“Shh…” Stella glanced around quickly, then made a quieting gesture. “Lydia, you can say that to me, but don’t shout it out loud. Understand?”
Lydia, noticing Stella’s unusual caution, lowered her voice. “Why?”
Stella, with a fond smile, adjusted Lydia’s collar. “In life, it doesn’t hurt to have more friends. The more friends you have, the easier your path will be. At least when something really happens, the right friends will pull you through. Don’t you think?”
Lydia nodded, only partly understanding, and the two of them continued walking.
In Lydia’s mind, Stella was a strong, capable woman, at least when it came to her work.
