Although Cherise was optimistic, Morris wasn’t in such a good state of mind.
He spent the whole night at the Dark Web Division, not daring to return to Chivers Residence, fearing that being alone in the vast estate, familiar sights and smells would remind him of Cherise, who was still missing.
Morris kept typing quickly on the keyboard and taking phone calls, afraid that if he closed his eyes for a moment, he might miss some crucial information.
The calls and messages kept pouring in, and normally, Morris would have lost his temper.
However, it was a crucial moment, one that could cost Morris his life.
It was almost 5 a.m. when Leo walked in with a phone in his hand. He reported, “Mr. Chivers, Mr. Jarrett’s call.”
Morris nodded, took the phone, and answered, “Hello.”
Arthur spoke with gravity, “What are your thoughts on the situation? There has been significant unrest among Clusia’s political elite recently.
“Damian and Charles, who disappeared two months ago, remain missing. Now Mary and your wife are also missing.
“I can’t manage everything on my own, so I’ll leave this challenge to you.
“If you’re truly at a loss, you can consult Mr. Finch. He might be able to provide some guidance.”
Arthur was deeply involved in significant national matters. If he were to handle the issue personally, it could incite public panic, and other forces might take advantage of the situation, thereby exacerbating the problem.
Hearing Arthur’s words, Morris scoffed and glared fiercely ahead. He said, “Don’t worry. I’ll definitely end Ghost Hand very soon.”
After the call finished, Morris went back to his work.
He turned to Leo, who was standing off to the side, and asked, “Has the rescue team found any clues on the mountain?”
Leo shook his head and replied, “Not yet. It’s strange. Looks like everything just disappeared.
“Mr. Jarrett’s team has already used satellite for the search, but nothing has been found. Those people must be very familiar with the terrain in that area.
“Ghost Hand was once simply known as an organization of assassins. Anyone could hire an assassin there for a fair price, but it appears that this is not the whole story.”
Morris nodded, lit a cigarette, and then said, “I’ve discovered that Ghost Hand is seeking to collaborate with regions outside Clusia in order to steal core technologies.
“The disappearance of Damian and Charles proves it.
“This single piece of evidence is enough to sentence everyone at Ghost Hand to death,
“We just need to find its main hideout.”
As Morris spoke, he looked outside the door. A puzzled expression appeared on his face for the first time. Then he decisively said, “After daybreak, go find Mr. Garcia.

Just at dawn, the Quinton family came to the Jarrett residence, shouting and yelling.
Alice asked, “How could you let Mary go missing? What was the Jarrett family doing when she disappeared?
“I think this is a conspiracy. Cherise, who went missing with Mary, must take her away on purpose.
“Anyway, you must explain everything to us.”
Lisa shook Jean’s arm and said, “Jean, I know how close you’ve gotten with Cherise lately. I should’ve warned you to stay away from her. I didn’t expect her to do such a thing.
“To be frank, her identities might really be part of her plan after all.”
Jean felt annoyed and replied, “Lisa, that’s impossible. Cherise is also missing. She went after Grandma. Maybe they’re together now.
“Do you think this is a soap opera? There’s no way there’s this much scheming in real life. Morris is going insane trying to find her.”
Matthew was there too. He took a sip of coffee, looked at Lucas who had kept silent all the time, and asked, “What did Arthur say?
“Is he just planning to keep waiting? At Mary’s age, could she handle all this suffering?
“Have the troops deployed. Who dares stop them?”
Lucas glanced up at Matthew and said, “I haven’t a clue where Arthur is right now. He’s the busiest person in all of Clusia.
“Troops? Well, easier said than done.
“Mary is part of the Jarrett family. We’re more anxious than anyone, but all we can do is wait.
“I’m not in the mood to entertain you, so you should leave for now. Don’t come by unless it’s really necessary.
“When Mary gets back, I’ll let you know.”
Alice wasn’t too happy hearing that. She slapped the table and stood up, shouting, “How could you do this?”
Matthew stopped Alice and looked at Lucas, saying, “Lucas, we understand how you feel. We’ll be leaving then.”
With that said, Matthew left with Alice and Lisa, turning to walk out of the Jarrett residence.
Watching them leave, Lucas shook his head.
Jean, confused, asked Lucas, “Why can’t Uncle send a troop to search for them?”
Lucas shook his head and replied, “It’s not that straightforward. If Arthur had actually done that, Clusia would descend into chaos, and some factions might take advantage of the situation to cause unrest.
“Arthur is in a tough spot, especially with his mother in danger. He’s undoubtedly more concerned than anyone else.
“However, due to his position, he must consider the broader implications.
“For now, Mary and Cherise have to endure their hardship. We can only hope they’ll be okay.”
