Chapter 311
In the police station, Camellia was taken into an interrogation room.
Not a single hair was out of place, she held her head high. Her makeup looked perfect, making her look like a proud lady from an old noble family.
She sat straight up in the chair, calm and composed, even though it had been two hours since she left Orlinth Innovations for this place.
She thought the Hawkins family would care about her reputation and quickly send someone to help her get out.
But two hours passed, and no one showed up.
A wry smile crossed her lips as a little self–pity crept in.
Her mind drifted until the creak of the door brought her back to reality.
When she saw who walked in, Camellia scoffed. “I knew this was you’re doing. Are you here to enjoy my misfortune?”
The person who entered was Cherise.
Cherise stepped inside and glanced at Camellia, showing no real emotion.
Sitting down comfortably in the chair across from her, Cherise tapped lightly on the table. “You shouldn’t be so ambitious. If you want to undermine GlobalVision Group, you need to be fully prepared.”
Camellia laughed out loud. “Cherise, you just have luck and looks, surrounded by so many admirers. If it weren’t for Morris and Nolan’s attention, would you have easily caught me like this?
Cherise fixated on her with a calm smile. “This is why the fall of nobility makes sense. Your narrow view doesn’t stop others from achieving what you can’t.”
Refusing to give up, Camellia still believed Cherise’s position was only because of the men around her. A twenty–year–old woman couldn’t possibly have so much power.
With Cherise in front of her, she narrowed her eyes.
Suddenly, Camellia aimed the ring on her finger at Cherise, ready to attack quickly.
But Cherise skillfully stopped Camellia with a pointed gesture, trapping her in the chair.
At that moment, only her voice remained free.
Camellia realized that Cherise had already shown her skills when Camellia was dealing with Hannia. Cherise had recognized the poison Camellia had used on Yulia, and the assassin sent to harm Cherise had failed the previous day.
All the evidence pointed out that Cherise was not someone to take lightly.
The Hawkins family’s noble background had made Camellia arrogant over time.
Now stuck in the chair, she could only speak slowly, “What have you done to me? We are the Hawkins family, aristocrats; even the government must treat us with respect! How dare you touch me?”
“I actually find you a bit pathetic,” Cherise replied, showing her phone screen to Camellia.
Despair and anger filled Camellia.

Camellia felt weak, but Cherise’s hold kept her frozen; she could only stare blankly.
Cherise took her phone back and stood up. “Whether you are just a pawn or a willing player, you must face the consequences!
“The people you sent yesterday were from Ghost Hand; they all killed themselves by biting their tongues. So what does that have to do with you or the Hawkins family?”
These words shocked Camellia.
Cherise knew about Ghost Hand; clearly, Camellia had misjudged her.
Seeing Camellia silent, Cherise took her chin. “Do you want to kill yourself? Maybe you should get my opinion first.”
With that, Cherise left the interrogation room.
At the door, Hannia was waiting for her.
When she saw Cherise, she stood up. “Ms. Leach, is my sister not allowed to come out?”
Cherise nodded. “This is a matter of commercial crime; we have to follow the law.”
Hannia paused. “I’m sorry for her actions; can I please see her?”
Cherise quickly spoke to a nearby staff member, “Let her in.”
Without looking back, Cherise left the police station.
Hannia took a deep breath and followed the staff member into the interrogation room.
Camellia sank into the chair.
The proud attitude she had shown only hours before was replaced by sadness.
Hannia looked at her and called, “Camellia.”
Camellia lifted her head. When she recognized her visitor, she scoffed. “So, even you have come to enjoy my misery?”
Hannia quickly waved her hands. “No, no! That’s not it; I feel sorry for you!”
Camellia’s expression hardened. “Sorry? Compared to you, I am indeed miserable. Since we were kids, everything good has gone to you. The elders have never said a bad word about you.
“And me? Every mistake I made was blown out of proportion–I was scolded, shut away, and punished–who really cared
about me?
“Today, I see that the elders I looked up to have only used me as a pawn. What can I do? All the evidence points to me, and I can only blame my own foolishness. Ha!”
Hannia, confused, shook her head. “What are you saying? I can’t understand anything.”
Camellia jumped to her feet. “Of course, you can’t understand! How could you possibly know my pain? Even Nolan, the one I love the most, is yours. How could you ever know?”
