The new human friend I made at the bar was known as Felipe Strauss.
As we were each about to head to the next venue to have fun with our arms wrapped around the beautiful women we charmed that evening, Felipe received a call from his sister. The latter asked him to go and take care of a sick friend.
Werewolves had a keen sense of hearing. I recognized the familiar voice on the phone–It belonged to “Serenity,” the designer I had always wanted to sign but had unfortunately botched things up with.
My new friend turns out to be Serenity’s brother? What a coincidence!
The atmosphere between Felipe and the woman he had hooked up with was great. He casually brushed his sister off, with no intention of going over.
Seizing the opportunity at hand, I promptly said that I would happen to be passing through that area and could help him with the task. After all, women paled in comparison to the allure of making money. Signing a contract for Serenity’s designs would benefit my company greatly.

When I knocked on the door, I was surprisingly greeted by the sight of Lucian’s luna, Kathryn.

When I became the Alpha of Bloodmoon Pack in the future, I would never let a human be my luna in a moment of impulsiveness.

Seizing that lull, I took out my phone, planning to text Lucian about his luna being deathly sick.

A crisp sound of glass shattering echoed from the kitchen.
I hadn’t even sent the text I composed, but I hastily tossed my phone aside and rushed into the kitchen. There, I found Kathryn collapsed on the floor, her slender arm cut by the glass. Droplets of blood trickled from the wound like water from a leaky faucet, staining the floor in a blossom of crimson.
“Holy sh*t! Kathryn!”
I could no longer worry about the possibility of Lucian tearing me apart for carrying Kathryn’s scent, I stepped forward and shook Kathryn by the shoulders, only to retract my hand in surprise at the scalding temperature.
Oh my Moon Goddess! Why is she burning up? She might just get roasted at this temperature!
I quickly scooped up the unconscious woman on the floor and rushed out of the house, heading straight for the hospital.
Kathryn’s POV:
I woke up in a hospital. As soon as I opened my eyes, a magnified handsome face was just inches before me.
Startled, I quickly shut my eyes before slowly opening them again. The same face greeted me, but this time, it was adorned with a smile. The man seemed fearless but had thick eyebrows, captivating eyes, and blindingly fair skin, which made the two dark circles under his eyes particularly distinct.
“You’re finally awake.” Cornelius let out a long sigh of relief.
Finally, the fog in my mind lifted, and my mind cleared. I struggled into a sitting position on the bed. Looking around, I realized that only Cornelius was there.
Chapter 20
Surprisingly, the man who appeared to be a playboy was quite kind in reality. Not only did he help to send me to the hospital but also kept watch by my sickbed.
I was somewhat touched. “Don’t tell me, you stayed here the whole time?”
“I can’t just leave you alone in the hospital, can I?” Raising an eyebrow, Cornelius shrugged.
“Thank you. I wonder how I should thank you. How about I treat you to a meal?”
“Never mind that.” Cornelius crossed his legs, sitting back on the nearby couch. “How about you do me a favor instead?”
