Kathryn’s POV:
Chapter 11
So you had time to accompany Juliette in trying on wedding dresses, but waiting an extra twenty minutes for the divorce was too much for you?
I took a deep breath when suddenly, I heard a knocking sound from the other end of the phone. Only the
wooden door of his office could produce such a dull noise.
Could it be that Lucian…. never went to City Hall at all?
I ventured to ask, “Lucian, you didn’t actually skip going to City Hall, did you?”
Lucian sneered coldly. “You think everyone is like you, constantly changing their minds?”
“Then, take a picture of the City Hall entrance for-”
Before I could even finish my sentence, Lucian had already hung up the phone.
I tossed my phone aside, muttering under my breath, “Ugh, what a sc*mbag!”
Esther folded the clothes I had half–changed out of neatly, and without any hesitation, she joined in the criticism. “What on earth did he do this time?”
I was visibly irritated. “Who knows? I was late, but he didn’t even go to City Hall, yet he’s the one throwing a tantrum.”
No sooner had I finished speaking, than a message arrived on Esther’s phone.
She picked it up and glanced at it, rolling her eyes in disdain before handing the phone to me. “Lucian is willing to spend a lot of money to schedule an appointment with you the day after tomorrow. No, to be precise, he wants to meet Serenity.”
That scoundrel of a man! He didn’t have twenty minutes to spare for our divorce, yet he had all the time in the world to arrange an appointment with Serenity!
I wouldn’t indulge him and told Esther. “Tell him that I just lost my husband and am currently taking time to grieve. I’m not available!”
At that moment, the only thought consuming my mind was divorce.
“We’re getting a divorce immediately!”
Esther was busy with her phone, and she relayed the exact words back to her assistant.
After putting down her phone, she began to analyze. “I suspect Lucian asked you out because he wants you
to design a gown for Juliette. There’s a fashion gala in Gladeast Entertainment next month, and I heard she’s
on the guest list. It’s quite an exclusive event. Lucian must have invested a lot to get her in.”
Really? Not only did he get her a ticket in there, but he also had to find a gown designed by Serenity to enhance her appearance. He really was investing that much in her, huh?
I wore an expressionless face. My heart, numbed from the pain, couldn’t hurt anymore.
Seeing that I showed no response, Esther couldn’t hold back her temper. She slammed her hand down on the table forcefully. “What? Are you really letting that lowlife Juliette walk all over you?”
I didn’t know what to say.
Infidelity wasn’t something a woman could accomplish alone; it boiled down to the man failing to uphold the moral boundaries of marriage.

Chapter 11
Moreover, it was pointless for me to argue with a third wheel who didn’t even know who I was.
Seeing that Esther was about to speak more, I changed the subject. “Didn’t you mention last time that you had a major client?”
Esther appeared somewhat disinterested. “Hmm, yes, it’s Gladeast Entertainment. The boss happens to be in Bearscaster today and wants to meet you to discuss the details. I haven’t agreed yet.”
Under the banner of Gladeast Entertainment, there were quite a few renowned leading actresses. Throughout the year, they were constantly attending various fashionable events, award ceremonies, and all sorts of evening parties. Consequently, their demand for gowns was significantly higher than most.
If we could secure this, it was not just about next year, even the overall reputation of our studio could be elevated.
I braced myself. “What are we waiting for? It’s foolish not to take the opportunity to earn money when it’s presented itself. Let’s go right now.”
It was two in the afternoon.
I drove Esther to Gladeast Entertainment.
Upon hearing that we were from Lush Moon fashion design studio, the receptionist couldn’t help but take a second glance. In a hushed tone, she asked, “Are you Serenity?”
Outside, I had always let Esther play my part, and this time was no exception.
Feeling a bit guilty, Esther put on a pair of dark sunglasses, hiding her expression. She deliberately lowered her voice and said, “Yeah. This is my assistant.”
The receptionist, her face filled with admiration, led us toward the elevator. “Our CEO has been waiting for you for quite some time!” she said.
Esther gave a light laugh as she entered the elevator. When she arrived at the CEO’s office door, she heard a voice from inside. “Has Serenity arrived?”
The person came out from the office to greet me personally. Upon seeing me, he paused for a moment, then exclaimed, “Are you Lucian’s Luna?”
I was taken aback. Wasn’t this person… Lucian’s cousin, Cornelius Schmidt?
The CEO of Gladeast Entertainment was Lucian’s cousin?
