Chapter 6
Loretta waited in the car for about ten minutes when she saw Amy rushing out of the gate. Army’s face was a mix of anxiety and worry, accompanied by guilt and anger. Anyone who looked at her would say she truly had no idea what had happened
Seeing this, a hint of mockery glinted in Loretta’s eyes. As expected, if she hadn’t lived through her previous life, she wouldn’t have noticed that Amy was acting
At that moment, the car door swung open, and Amy rushed in, breathless and with red–rimmed eyes. “Loretta, did Peter do anything to you?” she asked anxiously.
Loretta casually rested her hands on her knees, tilting her head to look at Amy. She calmly replied, “What do you think he could do to me?”
Amy paused for a moment, then seemed to realize something and breathed a sigh of relief. “How could I forget? Loretta, you’re a great boxer; ordinary people are no match for you.”
After saying that, she sat next to Loretta, pretending to be scared. I almost died of fright when I heard you on the phone. Peter is in the student council, and we interact a lot, but I never noticed he would take advantage of anyone.”
As she spoke, she looked at Loretta’s beautiful profile and said earnestly, “It must be because you’re so stunning that he’s developed an interest in you.
Loretta watched Amy act innocent in front of her, tapping her fingers on her knees casually and asked, “Peter said you created the opportunity for him to approach me, and you didn’t tell him that I have a boyfriend. Amy, what are you up to?”
Amy’s heart skipped a beat at the question, her face showing a mix of indignation and anxiety, as if she was really wronged Meanwhile, her eyes reddened.
“Loretta, Peter is lying! I didn’t create any opportunity for him to approach you. It was he who told me that the professor at our department called me, and I had no idea he was deliberately trying to lure me away to get closer to you,” Amy said.
As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, and anyone who saw her wouldn’t be able to bear blaming her. Even the driver in front couldn’t help but glance at Amy.
Loretta tapped her knees again, sneering inwardly. She realized that while she hadn’t minded Amy’s attempts to appear fragile in front of her before, now it made her feel particularly disgusted. She even wanted to vomit.
“Loretta, I was wrong, too. It’s the weekend; I should have directly refused the professor’s request,” Amy said, her voice filled with remorse.
Loretta gave a casual nod in acknowledgment, as if forgiving her, then asked, “I don’t want to go home so early today. Do you know anywhere we can have fun?”
“Why don’t we go to the Imperial Club?” Amy suggested eagerly I just heard from a classmate that there’s a masquerade ball at the Imperial Club tonight. Everyone will be wearing masks; we can dance or drink without anyone recognizing us. It’ll be a great way to unwind.”
Hearing Amy’s suggestion, Loretta smiled. Since Amy and Bruno were so eager, she decided to play along.
“Alright,” she said.
The Imperial Club operated on a membership basis, with rumors suggesting that its behind–the–scenes owner was quite influential. Only the wealthy and powerful could gain entry.
There were all kinds of food, drinks, and games, and as long as the customers had money, they could do whatever they want.

making this club one of the most popular places among rich kids.
By 5:30 PM, the club was bustling with activity.
In the monitoring room, two men sat there smoking. One of them had his leg casually draped over the other knee, reclining against the chair.
Although his gaze was fierce, and he exuded a predatory aura like a wolf, his slouched posture and strikingly handsome features made him particularly captivating. At that moment, he was swinging his leg, seemingly in good spirits.
The other man wasn’t as striking in appearance, but his features and demeanor looked quite tough. After taking a deep drag from his cigarette, he could no longer tolerate the annoying demeanor of the man next to him.
He kicked his friend’s calf lightly and asked, “Hey, Malcolm, what brings you here so early to watch the monitors? Is some relative of yours up to no good again? Are you planning to teach them a lesson tonight?”
Malcolm had shown remarkable business acumen upon his return, but his arrogance had earned him many detractors in his family.
After exhaling a puff of smoke, Malcolm scoffed at his relatives. Im not that bored”
As he said this, his gaze remained fixed on the entrance, as if afraid he might miss something.
Just then, he pointed at a man entering the club and said, “Greyson, keep an eye on that guy in the outfit that looks like a shroud
Greyson followed Malcolm’s gaze and replied reluctantly, “The guy wearing a sharp white suit? You call that outfit a shroud? Is he your enemy or something?”
After Greyson leaned closer to the large screen and recognized the man, he exclaimed, “Isn’t that Loretta’s boyfriend?” Realizing something, his eyes lit up as he turned to Malcolm. “Are you planning to go after Loretta’s boyfriend?” “They’re not together anymore, Malcolm said, casting a sharp look at Greyson.
That look sent a shiver down Greyson’s spine, and he stared at Malcolm in disbelief. “Malcolm, what do you want? Are you planning to go after Loretta again?”
As Greyson spoke, his voice rose in intensity. “Listen, Malcolm, don’t be impulsive. There are plenty of people in this circle who admire Loretta. Even if she breaks up with that guy, there will soon be others. You might not take them seriously, but think about it–if you provoke the wrath of the crowd and they all come after you, plus your restless relatives jumping in, won’t all your efforts over the past year be wasted?”
Malcolm took another deep drag of his cigarette, this time inhaling it into his lungs, before responding. That’s none of your business. Just keep an eye on that guy like I asked. If you don’t want to do it, I’ll find someone else.”
Greyson was at a loss for words. He sighed, “How did I end up being friends with a madman like you?”
“You should feel honored,” said Malcolm.
“Honored to be going crazy with you?” Greyson joked.
Malcolm didn’t even spare him a glance, his focus still fixed on the surveillance of the entrance.
After nearly ten minutes, Greyson remarked in surprise, “What did Loretta’s boyfriend just get handed?”
Malcolm turned to glance at the two men standing in a seemingly hidden comer, unaware that there were concealed cameras monitoring them. Leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed, he sneered, “Something that can turn people
on.”

“Sit down.” Malcolm shot him a cold glare. “If you go to destroy him now, what about the show we’re about to put on?”
Malcolm had been waiting for this moment. “If you ruin my plans, I’ll make sure you’re the first one to go.”
