Chapter 5
Maria, still excited about Loretta’s suggestion to have Cohen and Tony accompany her to the source of the gemstones, suddenly remembered what Loretta had said earlier.
She quickly added, “We don’t know what conflicts you and Brung have had. Since you don’t want to talk about him, why don’t you
take some time to cool off? Amy could keep you company and show you a good time.”
Amy immediately agreed. “Yeah, Loretta, how about we go see a play? The campus theater has a performance today. I can get us a couple of tickets.”
The film academy Amy attended often hosted such performances, and she had invited Loretta several times before. However, Loretta had been too busy with work to attend. Today, eager to observe Amy closely, she decided to go along.
When they arrived at the theater entrance, a tall, thin guy wearing glasses stood there, holding two tickets. As soon as he saw them approach, he hurried over.
His eyes were fixed on Loretta, and when she looked his way, he blushed immediately.
“Amy, who is this pretty girl?” he asked.
Amy couldn’t help but scoff internally. However, she still pretended to be proud of Loretta Th only a year older than me, but she graduated a year ago.”
“Really? That’s impressive!” the boy was stunned.

“Of course! Loretta is a straight–A student. She got into Greenfield University at sixteen and graduated by nineteen,” Amy said.
The boy’s cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red as he gazed at Loretta. “Hi, I’m Peter Williams. I’m in the same department as Amy, and I think I’m about the same age as you.
Loretta offered a nonchalant nod in response while Amy took the tickets from him and said, Thanks, Peter, but you can go
Peter shot one last glance at Loretta, his heart racing. He was completely stunned by Loretta’s beauty. Peter had thought Amy was beautiful, but he hadn’t expected her cousin to be even more so.
However, he knew better than to overstay his welcome and quickly left.
Once Loretta and Amy were seated in the theater, Peter sent a message to Amy.
Peter: [Amy, why didn’t you tell us that you have such a hot cousin?]
Amy glanced at Loretta, who was intently watching the play, and a flicker of malice crossed her eyes.
Amy: [Don’t even think about it! Loretta is very talented, and her standards are pretty high.]
Peter, undeterred, replied: [Come on, I just want to get to know her. Who knows? Lmight have some merits that she likes.]
Peter: (After the play, help me create a chance to meet her. I’ll introduce you to the director of the Youth Troupe, and I guarantee you’ll get the role of the second female lead ]
Amy couldn’t help but smile at that. She sneaked another glance at Loretta, who still focused on the performance, before turning her attention back to her phone to respond, [Deal.]
At this moment, Loretta glanced at Amy, then turned her gaze back to the front, her mind occupied with other thoughts.

Chapter 5
The play lasted nearly two–hours before coming to an end. As they exited the theater, Amy suddenly said to Loretta, “Loretta, I need to use the restroom. Do you want to come with me?”
“No, I’ll wait for you here,” Loretta said.
“Okay. With that, Amy walked off in one direction.
After a short while, she met up with Peter. “I’ll give you half an hour to make your impression. I’ll tell Loretta I got called away by a professor. Whether you can leave her a good impression depends on yourself.”
Peter grinned widely, showing off his white teeth. “Thanks.”
After that, the two went their separate ways.
Loretta stood there for a while when Amy’s text arrived.
Amy: [Loretta, I got pulled away by a professor for some help, and it’ll take at least half an hour. You can wander around the campus for now, and I’ll find you later.]
Loretta: [Okay.]
Grabbing her phone, Loretta walked off to one side while texting
Loretta: (I’ll be at the Imperial Club tonight, so just help me make arrangements.]
“Ms Broderick.” A voice suddenly called out to her from behind. Loretta put her phone away and turned to see Peter walking towards her. She already had an idea of what was coming.
Peter approached her with a cheerful smile. “I just ran into Amy. She got called away by a professor and asked me to come over and show you around the campus.”
Loretta nodded, not opposing his suggestion.
Walking alongside her, Peter tilted his head to admire her. “I always thought Amy was pretty, but you’re even more stunning You must have a lot of admirers, right?”
Loretta turned to him and asked in return, “Did Amy tell you that I’m already engaged?”
Peter’s expression froze; Amy hadn’t mentioned this to him at all
Loretta flashed a charming smile that quickened Peter’s heartbe
She continued, “Tell me about Amy’s life at campus. I’m the only child in my family, and she’s the only one among my cousins close to my age, so we’ve always had a good relationship. I want to know more about her here, like does she have a boyfriend?”
Peter’s expression changed slightly, and he suddenly realized something. “You know Amy is just making excuses to let me get closer to you, right?”
Loretta’s expression didn’t change. “I know that now.”
Peter felt a thrill of excitement, realizing that the relationship between Loretta and Argy wasn’t as good as it seemed. He believed he could do something to make Loretta like him.
After all, a woman like Loretta was far more enticing than those college girls or established actresses. Peter thought that courting Loretta would definitely be exhilarating
“Amy is quite popular in the campus. The professors like her, and she has countless admirers. The most important thing is, she doesn’t care for any of the guys here. I heard she has a boyfriend, and someone saw them together, Peter said.

Loretta asked, “When was she seen with him?”
“About two or three months ago, I think.” After saying this, Peter suddenly stepped in front of Lorena, blocking her path.
Loretta was still wearing the elegant dress she had on for the party, and with her 3–inch heels, she stood face to face with Peter, matching his height.
Peter gazed at her strikingly beautiful face, his heart racing even faster. He had never seen such an alluring woman- gorgeous yet not gaudy. Her eyes held a chilling allure that both fascinated and intimidated him.
In a moment of reckless impulse, Peter raised his hand to touch Loretta’s face. As he swallowed hard, he said, “What else do you want to know? I’ll tell you anything you want.”
In the next second, his wrist was suddenly seized tightly, followed by a swift turn and an over–the–shoulder throw that sent him crashing to the ground.
After a loud thud, Peter lay on the ground and groaned.
Loretta walked elegantly to where Peter lay sprawled on the ground and kindly asked, “Didn’t my cousin tell you that I’ve been training in boxing since I was little, and I’m pretty good at r
Peter saw stars, his head buzzing.
If Amy had told him that Loretta was a great boxer, he wouldn’t have been caught so off guard and thrown down so hard.
As Peter fumed with frustration, Loretta took out her phone and called Amy.
When Amy answered, Loretta spoke directly in front of Peter, “The guy you asked to accompany me just tried to take advantage of me. I’ll wait for you in the car… You don’t need to explain; just hurry up.”
After hanging up, she walked away.
