Soon, a firm voice came through the line. “Loretta, I’m surprised to receive your call”
Loretta giggled and replied, “I just arrived in Maveris and wanted to see if you and Mia have time to grab a meal together.”

By the time John and Loretta walked out of the office building, all their paperwork had been completed.
As Loretta and John sat in the car heading back to the hotel, John still looked a bit dazed. He asked her, “When did you and the mayor’s son become classmates?”
Loretta raised an eyebrow at him and mischievously replied, “Actually, we’re not classmates. We met at an international competition and became friends after a bit of rivalry. I said that earlier just to make it sound like we have a close relationship, to put that man in his place.”
Hearing this, John burst into laughter. But then, thinking of the way Hayden had looked at his daughter, his expression darkened. “Good thing you know the mayor’s son; otherwise, I would have had to go beat that man up.”
Even if he couldn’t open a branch here, he would never let Hayden do anything to his daughter.
Loretta leaned her head on John’s shoulder and said, “Dad, don’t worry about me. As long as I don’t want to, no one can take advantage of me.

That evening, Malcolm–had just disembarked from his flight when he was pulled into a bar, feeling somewhat displeased.
Ruben, the man who brought him in, said, “I’ve heard that several government officials are here drinking tonight. We should go say hello. The Lindsey Group had some issues here, and it would help to get their assistance in resolving them.”
Malcolm didn’t think much of it, but he didn’t mim around to leave, either. He simply said, “I’m only here for two days, and then I’ll go back.”
Ruben suddenly stopped, turning to look at him in surprise. “Since when are you so eager to return? Didn’t you say that the Lindsey family isn’t worth retuming to?”
“Who said I was in a hurry to go back to the Lindsey family?” Malcolm said. He wanted to confront Loretta and demand to know why she had run away after having sex with him. Even if it was just a deal, she should have at least said goodbye afterwand
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and the more he wanted to leave. So, when he was brought to the booth where the government officials were sitting, he was somewhat distracted.
Men come
to bars for two reasons: drinking and women. These men were no exception. After a few drinks, the conversation quickly turned to women.
Malcolm was still lost in thought when he suddenly heard an annoying voice. “Today, a jeweler from Zyntara came to see me, and his daughter is truly exceptional. That body, that face–she was so pretty that she gave me an erection right away.”

He heard the man mentioned a jeweler from Zyntara. If he remembered correctly, Loretta’s father was in Maveris. Malcolm wondered if this meant that Loretta was here, too.

With a furious kick, Malcolm knocked over the table holding the drinks, sending several bottles shattering to the floor, silencing Hayden’s voice abruptly.
Everyone stared in shock at Malcolm, who had suddenly stood up, looking incredibly enraged.
Ruben was the first to react, quickly pulling him back. “Malcolm what are you doing?! Sit down; we’re here to ask for help.
“I don’t care!” After saying that, Malcolm shrugged off Ruben’s hund, his mind racing as he grabbed a bottle and swung it at Hayden’s head
As the bottle shattered and blood sprayed, chaos erupted in the room.
In the end, Malcolm and Ruben ended up in the police station.
Sitting in a chair at the station, Ruben kicked Malcolm, who was casually leaning back with his legs crossed, clearly unconcerned about the consequences. Ruben looked at him, incredulous. “Aren’t you worried?”
Malcolm lazily raised his eyes to glance at him, crossing his arms “Don’t worry; someone will come to bail us out” Those years he spent abroad were not for nothing.
“I’m not talking about getting out. Seriously, why did you suddenly start hitting that guy? And not just anyone–you hit a Jocal official,” Ruben said helplessly

Ruben suddenly seemed to understand something. “You didn’t mentionally offend the local official, did you? Planning to leave the company to your uncle and let them deal with the mess?”
Malcolm didn’t respond, but Ruben felt he had hit the nail on the head.
Loretta had no idea what had happened in the bar.
After all the necessary permits for the store were processed, John felt a lot more relaxed. A few days later, once everything was settled, the Broderick Group’s jewelry store officially opened at Elysium Plaza.
During dinner one evening, John turned to Loretta and said, “From now on, everything here will be handled by the manager. I’ll spend the next couple of days with you, and then we’ll head back home.”
Loretta had no objections.
The next morning, John received an unexpected invitation to an auction.
He was somewhat surprised to see the invitation. “The Khaos Auction House? Isn’t that the largest auction house in Maveris? Why would they send me an invitation?”
Loretta understood that the inevitable had come.
She took the invitation, opened it, and glanced inside. “It says there will be items from Zyntara at this auction, which might interest you, Dad.”
John nodded, realizing. “It seems the Zyntaran merchants here all received this invitation. It’s possible that some artifacts from our country have surfaced.”
His expression grew serious as he continued, “Maveris doesn’t have any protective laws for foreign artifacts. If they’re bringing something this significant to a major auction, it must be valuable and important to the country. I’ll go take a look!
Loretta pressed her lips together but didn’t object.
