“WHAT?” Alpha Perez’s eyes widened, his heart beating faster as he clutched the telephone receiver after Alexia had called him, informing him that Serena had gone missing. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I–I was looking for her this morning since we usually ate breakfast together, but she didn’t show up at the dining hall. I asked Alpha Robert about where the Luna had gone to, but he simply answered that she won’t be eating with us from now on and that I should go back to the North.” Alexia explained, feeling nervous because she failed to keep an eye on Serena.
“It didn’t seem she was in danger.” She added, “I had a feeling that Luna Serena had run away?”
“Run away?” Alpha Perez’s jaw tightened, his entire body tensing up. “Why would she do that?”
“I’m not entirely sure, Alpha, but I do know that she was keeping something from you.”
Alexia’s voice trembled, unsure whether she should tell him about Serena’s visit to the hospital a week ago or not, but when she felt like he deserved to know what had happened, she eventually spilled it. “Do you remember the time when I accompanied her outside the packhouse?”
“To be honest, we dropped by the hospital, but she told us to keep it a secret, so we did.” she continued explaining, “I–I think it had something to do with why she ran away.”
Alpha Perez went silent for a moment, connecting what his female warrior was saying to Serena’s sudden behavior last week. The way she suddenly wanted to go out, her sudden crying that day, and other behaviors that he found unusual but didn’t question her.
“Tell Alpha Robert I’m going there.” He hung up the phone after that. His frustration was evident as he took the vase on top of his desk and threw it across the room. It shattered on the floor after falling to the ground and his rage only increased. The sudden noise made Jarren who was just about to knock startled and quickly open the door. His eyes widened when he saw the alpha standing in front of his desk, fuming with rage as he clenched his fists tightly.
“W–what happened?” he asked, his gaze shifting between the broken vase on the floor and his friend heading towards the connecting door that led to his bedroom.
“I’m going to the east, so take care of things while I’m away.” Alpha Perez ordered coldly before leaving the room without sparing another glance at Jarren.
He then quickly got ready and asked his driver to take him to the station. The train ride to the east was long and restless for Alpha Perez. His mind was racing, going over all the possible reasons why Serena would run away from him and their pack. No wonder why she seemed off last night, the way suddenly thanked him was too suspicious.
The possibility that she might be sick scared him, and that only fueled his determination to find her. Even if it means searching for her all over the country for her.
It was already late in the evening when he arrived at the Crescent pack territory, but he still strode into the packhouse with a sense of urgency that almost intimidated everyone with his powerful aura. They automatically bowed down towards him. after seeing him approaching, even though his face remained emotionless.
“Alpha,” Alexia approached him, fear evident in her voice, “Luna Serena had really run away, I heard the one of the maids earlier, she said she saw her and her nanny left at dawn.”
Alpha Perez’s jaw tensed as he shut his eyes for a moment. He couldn’t comprehend why Serena would leave without letting anyone know, or what her reason could be. All he could think about right now was finding her and making sure she was okay.
“Where’s Alpha Robert? I need to talk to him-”
“I’m here,” came a booming voice from the staircase, catching both Alpha Perez and Alexia off guard. “I understand you

frustration but please calm–down, you’re scaring my pack members.”
suddenly ran away?” he asked, trying his hardest to remain respectful, but right now, “How can I calm down when my wie his emotions were getting the better of him and he couldn’t control it any longer. “Where is my wife? I’m sure you know where she is and why she suddenly vanished.”
“Don’t be rash Alpha Perez,” Robert advised calmly, before taking a deep sigh. He knew that his son–in–law would likely be angry, but he never imagined he would cause a commotion like this so late in the evening. It had slipped his mind that this man was considered one of the most feared Alphas in the country, even giving the Alpha King reason to worry.
“I have no idea of her whereabouts, and clueless as to why she decided to flee. All I did was help her out because I kept my promise to make up for the mistakes I’ve made in the past.” he explained, hearing the servant’s murmurs, “I know what my daughter did was wrong, but what can I do? She was desperate to leave.”
The words hit Alpha Perez like a punch to the gut, and he instinctively clenched his fist. Serena had left him and their pack without any explanation, and he struggled to come to terms with it. Part of him was worried about her well–being, but another part couldn’t shake the feeling of betrayal from her choice.
“Fuck,” he cursed as he stormed out of the packhouse, his mind racing with questions and anger. He couldn’t understand why Serena would just leave like this without any explanation. He had thought that their bond was strong enough to withstand any challenges, but her sudden disappearance shattered that belief.
He ran through the woods, using his heightened senses to track her scent. But after hours of searching, he still couldn’t find her. The moon was high up in the sky now, casting a pale glow over the forest.
Alpha Perez finally stopped and let out a frustrated growl. He needed to calm down and think rationally. He knew that Serena wouldn’t have left without a good reason. There must be something going on that he wasn’t aware of.
He gritted his teeth, and punched the tree, hard enough that it sent a shockwave through the forest. The leaves rustled as the tree quivered from the impact. He winced as pain shot through his hand, but he welcomed it.
“Alpha!” Alexia approached him, shocked to see the blood tricking from his knuckles, “Are you alright?!”
“We’re going back to the north tomorrow morning. I need to dispatch the warriors to look for my wife,” he informed, ignoring Alexia’s concern as he walked past her.
No matter how much he pondered it, there was no possible way that Alpha Robert was completely ignorant of the situation. He had to accept that he would have to find the answers himself. He couldn’t risk damaging his relationship with Serena’s father, so he knew he had to leave immediately before he lost control and forced the information out of him.
